I was looking over some of the recent indicators this morning, and I can't help but feel like we're hitting a bit of a plateau. It feels like every time we get a good run of momentum, things just kind of... stall out. It’s not a crash, but that steady uphill climb we were seeing feels more like a slow walk on flat ground now.
I’ve noticed it in my own life, too. My local shops are definitely feeling a bit more cautious with their hiring, and even though things aren't "bad" in a catastrophic sense, that sense of constant expansion just doesn't feel as palpable as it did a year or two ago. It’s hard to tell if this is just a natural cooling period or if we're staring down a much longer period of stagnation.
Do you guys feel like the energy is shifting, or am I just being overly pessimistic about the current pace?
