Disinfecting tips? in Health ·
Wait, are you telling me this Allstate I picked up at Walmart—the one they’re selling specifically for disinfecting that has 60% alcohol—is actually useless?

Look, 50% alcohol in a craft distillery spirit is definitely going to be lower than the 60% you find in that stuff I picked up at Walmart.

Of course, you have weaker batches, and then there are some that actually hit that 60% mark—much like the product from Walmart.

Most people don't actually know the proof of a craft spirit—and honestly, those buying off any random shelf probably deal with even lower alcohol content, so you're technically right.

We used to distill our own spirits and measure the ABV ourselves, so we know exactly what's in our cabinet—but regarding the store-bought stuff? I agree with you.

Bleach is incredibly cheap and easy to find—I actually grabbed five gallons when everything first started hitting the fan.

What really struck me was how many people just didn't get it. Bleach was practically sitting there on the shelves waiting to be picked up, yet people were giving me these puzzled looks while I filled my cart—it never even crossed their minds to grab some.

It’s wild how fast people forget... and how quickly they lose their common sense...

The same goes for high-proof spirits—real hard liquor with at least 50% alcohol is a solid disinfectant... but now you're paying $5.00 for a tiny shot at places like Walmart or local pharmacies...$5.00 for a single ounce... when you could have bought a whole liter of the real stuff for that kind of money—maybe a little more...

I'm putting this down just so it's on the record... and maybe it'll help someone out...

One thing I love about bleach is that it doesn't leave "residue" on the furniture, and the smell dissipates pretty fast... it's actually a great tool; I've started to appreciate it... just remember, it's toxic, so wear gloves! If you have them handy...

I’m starting to get a bit irritated by the people who act like they just discovered Vitamin D—as if realizing you can't synthesize it without actual sunlight is some groundbreaking revelation. It’s no wonder the general malaise among Americans has skyrocketed over the last two decades.

Regarding runners and cyclists—I read somewhere, on some obscure sites, that there should be a gap of well over six feet between them due to sweat, body evaporation, and the general "projection" of viruses... I'm not sure if that's been scientifically proven, but it sounds perfectly logical to me. So, I’ve started giving runners and cyclists a very wide berth—honestly, I avoid them more than the slow walkers or the folks just standing around in a grocery store.

There are certain medications specifically designed for that purpose that your primary care physician could prescribe for you.
