Monitor buying guide (mega-thread)

Hey everyone. Looking for some recommendations for a 27" monitor with a budget of around $300.
The kids will be doing some light gaming on it, nothing too crazy.
My main priorities are eye protection, VESA mount compatibility, and anything better than Full HD resolution. I also need a response time that isn't worse than 3ms. My old MSI 2K monitor finally bit the dust, and unfortunately, the warranty just expired.
Here’s my current setup if that helps:
Intel Core i5-12600K 3.6 GHz LGA1700 box DDR4
DDR4 Patriot Viper Steel, 16GB (2x8) 3600Mhz
