I was browsing Best Buy earlier and nearly choked when I saw they're asking $1,200 for an RTX 3080 Ti. I listed mine on eBay for $2167 and literally nobody has even bothered to message me.
tvviet... It's basically an illegal IPTV setup. Has everything you could want for just $10 a month. That's how I watch my games..
These guys are such scammers. They're trying to peddle GPUs without any warranty for about $750...
For gamers, that price is way too steep, and honestly, no miner is going to touch them if there's no warranty to back it up.
🥱

I’m honestly not sure if it’s even worth upgrading for 1080p gaming once prices finally settle down. I was looking at something like an RX 5500, though maybe something even newer will hit the market by then.
Just save your money. You can't find a 5600xt for under $80 right now, and who knows if it's actually that much better than a 580... Prices are absolutely insane; with Ethereum being mined, new GPUs are basically trickle-feeding into the market. For God's sake, they're still selling 1050tis in retail stores. In 2021? It's pathetic.

I'm with you 100% on that..👍
But my point was that we’re all sitting here waiting for the next generation of GPUs, yet you guys are trying to pitch us a card from three generations ago?!?!!? As if it’s something "new"?!
😠😠 😠 😠
Just imagine if there were a shortage of RAM and they suddenly started pulling old DDR2 sticks out of storage to sell them off.
Calling that "new" 🙂 🙂
That's what I meant..
wiredotter14 said:Yeah, the 3070 packs more punch. But honestly, I still think the RX 580 is a better value for mining if you can find them at those old prices from when they dipped below $500. Now, good luck finding anything; the market is a mess right now. Anything remotely close to MSRP that could actually mine has already vanished. It looks like Nvidia started churning out the GTX 1050 Ti just so they'd have something left to hawk to gamers 😵😵😵
They deserve a slap in the face for moves like that. Seriously, what are you even supposed to do with a 1050 Ti?
wiredotter14 said:An RX 580 brings in about $3 a day if you aren't counting electricity costs. So, do the math yourselves—figure out how much those miners are overpaying for cards versus how long it actually takes to break even on the investment.
One calculator I used showed the 3070 bringing in about $11 a day after subtracting power costs. Basically pure profit...

Honestly, I don't feel like getting into an argument about it, but if there really are these mining crazies willing to drop that much cash on a used GPU, who am I to judge?
A buddy of mine is into mining and tells me an RX 580 with 8GB of VRAM is pulling in about $3.50 in pure profit daily at current ETH rates.
By the time I finish overthinking this, the hype might already be dead and gone.🤣
Does anyone have a gut feeling on when things might actually stabilize? Like, when are we going to see GPUs back at somewhat normal prices?🤔
I'm hearing nothing before summer... if ever.🐔
From what I've been seeing in the news lately, people are talking about a six-month wait... some motherboard manufacturers are even warning about smartphone shortages...
Eric Garcia said:I don't really have one specific team I can call my own, but there are a few I definitely root for:
The Patriots - They're an absolute machine, you have to respect that.
Green Bay Packers - The only real sociopaths in the league, coming from a tiny town, plus we've got Rodgers...
New Orleans Saints - My favorite combo of city, logo, and colors.
Chiefs - Watching Mahomes tear it up on offense is something else.
I'm right there with you. There are so many interesting teams out there that picking just one is nearly impossible. The Chiefs are wild... seeing what Gruden could pull off with the Raiders would be something to watch. Honestly, the whole league is great to follow right now. I bet on games every weekend, which just adds a little extra spice to watching them.
Unlike >, I don't really have one single favorite club. Right now, I'm leaning toward the New England Patriots because of everything they've pulled off over the last 20 years, including TB. But honestly, once he's gone, I'm not sure. I was drawn to the Steelers back when they were playing in the Super Bowl (can't remember which one), and my buddy Snoop pulls for them too. I also found myself rooting for the Falcons just because of Atlanta. I don't know, it's tough to commit to just one team. Then you've got the Baltimore Ravens, who I like because of their history and that gritty, hard-hitting style of play. The Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers are interesting, too. Whatever, for now, I'm just enjoying the NFL.
