I did, including the ASRock board. The rush is because I'm only in Italy for a little while longer, and shipping usually takes about 6 or 7 business days. Total came out to $783 ($1942 plus $50 some local tax and shipping fees), which would easily be $700-$$333 cheaper if I were buying these exact same parts back home in the States. 👍🙏

Successfully swapped the 5400 RPM HDD for a 7200 RPM one and traded the 2x4GB setup for a single 8GB stick.

Maybe look into a larger SSD or a motherboard with four RAM slots. Eventually, you're going to hit a wall when you realize 8GB isn't enough for this setup, and you'll find all your slots are already filled up.
I'll try swapping out the drives, and as for the RAM, I'll just grab a 2x8gb kit whenever the need actually arises.

I managed to squeeze this into a $1,000 budget, and I have the chance to pick up the whole setup in Italy. What's the verdict?

Honestly, it’s ridiculous—the motherboard for an Intel Core i5-8400 is actually $83 more expensive than one for an AM4 build, even though both sets of parts are hovering around $467. On another note, regarding the graphics card: is it actually worth shelling out extra cash for the 6 GB version over the GeForce GTX 1060 3 GB? Is the jump from 3 GB to 6 GB actually noticeable in real-world use?

Specifically, what’s the actual difference between an Intel Core i3 and an Intel Core i5, or choosing between a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti and a GeForce GTX 1060? Is it smarter to go for a more powerful processor paired with a 1050 Ti, or should I stick with an Intel Core i3 and bump it up to a 1060?

Did you seat the GPU properly? Maybe there’s a loose connection with the HDMI cable? And don't tell me you forgot to plug in the PCIe power connector from the PSU.
Everything is seated correctly—GPU, power cables, all of it. I tried running it via HDMI to my TV and it's the exact same result: no signal, and the TV just sits there in standby mode.
Hey everyone, a few days ago my PC started lagging like crazy while I was running Windows. After opening up the case, I tried unplugging the graphics card and plugging it back in, but now the monitor isn't detecting anything at all. The PC seems to be running fine, but nothing shows up on the screen—just that blinking light you get when a monitor is stuck in standby mode. I'm stumped. Is this a monitor issue, a GPU problem, or something else entirely? My setup uses a Samsung monitor and a GeForce GTX 690. Any advice or ideas on what I should check next?
