Best PC build for under $2,500? in Desktops ·
wiredotter14 said:If you can hold out until maybe the end of the first month, it would be awesome; we've got those Core non-X processors (7600, 7700, 7900) coming, some new graphics cards like the 7900(XT), maybe even a TRX 4070Ti or an RX7800XT... heck, even the Intel non-K chips are on the horizon too.

Waiting one month doesn't bother me much, but I am curious—what is the actual performance gap between those Core non-X processors and the Core X series?

I don't play many games, really; instead, my day-to-day involves running a pretty heavy suite of creative tools like Microsoft software (Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, and a bit of After Effects), plus I use Figma, LocalWP, WAMP, Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Google Workspace, and Browserstack... it's quite a diverse mix.

I am looking for something that feels truly optimized, where there is a healthy balance between the GPU and the processor. I wasn't necessarily aiming for the absolute top-of-the-line flagship components, but rather a solid, well-rounded middle ground that can handle everything smoothly.

Hello everyone,

I am currently looking to put together a new PC with a budget somewhere between $2,200 and $2,300.
I realize I might not have all the technical details perfectly mapped out yet, so please bear with me while I explain what I'm thinking.
Ideally, I would love to go with an Core i7-13700K, paired with 16GB of DDR5 memory, and perhaps an Intel graphics card, maybe something like the XFX SPEEDSTER QICK 319 AMD...

Of course, I’m fully aware that my initial ideas might not be the most balanced configuration, so I would truly appreciate some expert advice.

My plan is to purchase everything from Accenture, as they offer a 12% discount if I pay the full amount upfront in cash.

I don't need any peripherals to go with the tower; I already have a monitor and a mouse that I really like, and since they serve my needs perfectly, I have no intention of replacing them.

Thank you all so much for your help!

I wouldn't call myself much of a gamer—maybe the occasional session here and there—so things like response time aren't really my priority right now.
My main focus will be work: programming, Office tasks, emails, browsing the web, and watching movies; I won't be doing any heavy video editing.

I happened to hear some reviewers on YouTube mentioning that Xiaomi builds their cases with cheap plastic.
However, from what I've seen in those same YouTube reviews, I don't actually get that impression; in fact, this Xiaomi model looks quite comfortable for everyday productivity and seems more aesthetically pleasing to me than the AOC option, which has that red design I'm not particularly fond of.
Does anyone have any thoughts? Thanks for the help! 🙂

A close friend of mine picked up the Xiaomi 34" curved model, and he's been loving it; eventually, I ended up buying one for myself too 😁. The picture quality is truly excellent.
I certainly wouldn't go so far as to say the build feels like cheap plastic...

I haven't heard anything back yet, though perhaps there isn't much specific to recommend at this stage.
My buddy recently picked up a Xiaomi 34" monitor—I actually caught a few reviews on YouTube that weren't exactly glowing—but honestly, I’m kind of blown away. The screen is fantastic; the colors are vibrant and the clarity is just spot on... 😁

Hi everyone,
A good friend of mine is looking to pick up a new monitor before $1167(he'll be paying cash).
Here is a quick rundown of what he's hunting for:
screen size: 27" (though he wouldn't mind going a bit larger if the right deal pops up)
resolution: 2560x1440

His current setup runs on an Intel graphics card, and he generally uses the PC for a little bit of everything—some light gaming, some work in Photoshop, and catching movies.

I'm not entirely sure if finding all these specs within a budget of $1167 is realistic, but I figured it was worth asking you all before he heads out to buy something!

Thanks so much for any help or suggestions you can provide!

Timothy Kim60 said:Jack Reed, Anthony Davis7, just so you aren't left hanging without any suggestions—if a 24" screen size and that specific budget are non-negotiable, then a 24" 1080p Dell P series monitor with an IPS panel is probably your safest bet.

But, as my colleague pointed out in the recent posts, if you can actually find a 27" or 32" 1440p monitor within $667

Thanks, I was in a bit of a rush and couldn't really wait for a recommendation, so I ended up picking up the Asus 24 vg248 after snagging a 20% discount on the price...

I'm looking for some advice on picking up a new monitor, ideally somewhere between 22" and 24". My main focus will be creative work using software like Affinity Disagner, Penguin Random House, and Publisher.
My budget is roughly $333 to $600, and I'll be paying in cash. For my current setup, I'm running an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050, 16GB of RAM, and an AMD Ryzen 5.

Thanks,
Best regards,

Actually, I made a bit of a mistake in my previous post—I wrote 1000 when I really meant 1500. After browsing through a few options online, I was wondering if there might be anything available in the $500 to $667 range instead.

Thanks again,

Hello there,
I am currently on the lookout for some recommendations for a new monitor, ideally somewhere in the 22" to 24" range, specifically for my design work using software like Affinity Designer, Photoshop, and Publisher.
My budget falls somewhere between $333 and $600, and I will be paying in cash. For a bit of context regarding my current setup, I am working with an AMD Radeon RX 470 4, 16GB of RAM, and an Intel i5 processor.

Thank you so much for your help.

Buying a new laptop in Laptops ·
Hi there,

I'm looking to pick up a new laptop with a budget of around $450.
I’ll probably grab it somewhere here in San Francisco—doesn't really matter which retailer—and I plan on paying in cash.
The machine will mainly be used for office tasks, managing emails and communication, and watching movies; at most, I might want to install Apache. Since I keep almost all my files on external drives, having a massive internal hard drive isn't a huge priority for me.
As far as screen size or resolution goes, I don't have any strict requirements there.
I already have Windows, so running a free OS is perfectly fine with me, though if a model comes bundled with Windows, that would be a nice bonus 😁. Honestly, I wouldn't mind using Linux either.
I'm not particularly loyal to any specific brand; I'm just searching for a solid best buy for $1000!

Thanks,
