If a specialist at a private clinic tells me I need to start taking certain medications, can I just ask them to write out a prescription so I can head straight to the pharmacy and pay for it myself?

Hey there,
I don't have supplemental insurance, so I might find myself needing to hit up the ER every once in a while.
What does the damage usually look like—is there a standard fee just for walking through the door, or does it all depend on which tests they run on you?

Thanks, that’s exactly what I was wondering.
Hey there
I was wondering about something—if I go in for an exam at a private clinic... and after the checkup, the doctor tells me I need a specific medication
do I have to head back to my primary care physician to get a prescription, or can the specialist at the clinic just write it out right then and there so I can pick it up at the pharmacy?

Hi there,
I need to schedule an initial consultation with a urologist.
Does anyone know what the wait times are looking like in NYC? Looking at these waiting lists, it seems like it could be at least two months—though I might be reading them wrong.
