From what I can tell, there's some thermal paste included in the box... http://pcekspert.com/articles/444-1.html but I was actually looking at this cooler here... because the other one doesn't come with any http://pcekspert.com/articles/print-579.html

Alright my helpers, I actually listened to you guys... took a little advice from here and there... I called Best Buy and ordered these two coolers: Since my AMD Radeon HD 3870 isn't even listed in the compatible cards for the Cooler Master V-series, I checked with a "buddy" who's running the exact same setup... the guy said he'll order them anyway, and if they don't fit, he'll just swap them out for this: since they have those in stock.... Installation should cost me about $23..... They'll have everything sorted by Wednesday... I'll hit you guys up after I test them out....

I saw... they even have a map right there on their site. You think they actually have guys on staff who can handle the install too?

Man, I had no clue there were even any links in Indianapolis...

🙏🙏 Thanks so much, guys... if this actually works, drinks are on me! I got a similar suggestion once before, but they told me those fans were at least $400 $167... while these ones you're suggesting are basically half that price. How does that even work??? Honestly, I don't mind dropping up to $500 or $600 total for both—don't hold back on my account. Will these last two suggestions really be quiet enough?

CPU: AMD Athlon X2 dual core 5000+ with MMX3DNow (2 CPUs)
Memory: 2GB RAM
PSU: It just says ATX 500W P4 on the label (no other details besides some input/output chart)
So, about that question regarding what resolution I play at... it's kind of hard to say. Like with Call of Duty 4, I didn't mess with any settings at all. Just launched the game and went for it! Didn't touch a single resolution setting.
This graphics card totally does the job for me... (aside from being super noisy)
I just stopped the fans on both my CPU and the GPU at once... man, now THAT is what I'm talking about! That silence is sweet. It would be awesome to grab a new CPU cooler soon too.
Other than the fan inside the power supply, I don't have any other extra fans in the rig.
Here...
Help me out!
😉😉🙏

I found some analysis software online... SiSoftware Sandra.... will the data I pull from that be enough for you???? yeah?? ... I ran it on my work computer here and it spits out pretty much everything about the rig except for the power supply.... so I'll just have to read those specs directly from the unit itself.

Hey, I'm stuck at work right now so I can't dig up those specs just yet... I'll shoot everything over to you as soon as I get home... probably around 8:00 or 9:00 PM... and if my wife isn't riding my back too much, maybe even sooner! :-)

Warranty's gone... it's basically junk now... honestly, I don't know the first thing about all this tech stuff (like how the CPU, motherboard, and GPU actually play nice together). Looks like my only move is to drag this thing to a repair shop and just give them a straight order: I don't want to hear any weird noises when it boots up, and I want to keep the performance right where it is at $333... what do you think?? You know any solid repair shops over in Indianapolis??? 😁

Picked up a pre-built rig about a year ago during a Konikom Christmas sale.. Man, this thing was loud right out of the box! It didn't bug me too much at first, but now it's seriously starting to get on my nerves since I had to move it from the floor up onto my desk.... At night, once I shut it down, man, RELIEF... absolute SILENCE.... So I popped the case open (first time ever!) and stopped the CPU fan with my finger, then the GPU fan, and yep—it's definitely the graphics card fan making all that noise... My current card is this:
http://www1.sapphiretech.com/id/prod...gpid=242&grp=3It says right on it: Sapphire HD 3870
So, some "experts" told me the best move is just to swap the card, and they suggested this one: Just a heads up, the PC is just as noisy today as the very first day I turned it on, so it's not like it's broken or covered in dust...
Is it actually smart to make that switch? Is the new one (HD 4670) any stronger than my HG 3870?? And will the 4670 handle COD 1 through 5 okay? Anyone got a smart fix for my noise problem?? PLZ... help a guy out.... I'd really love to stick with a Sapphire ATI Radeon card because I use it constantly for movies (hooked it up to an HDMI LCD) and we're already used to how it works (even my wife knows the drill!), so I'd love to stay with that software interface... Any tips? Advice? Help?? One more thing: I can't go over $233 for the new card...
