My platelet count is usually sitting around 600—found out totally by accident during a routine checkup because my blood work looked weirdly off, then more tests, and so on. I haven't even made it to a hematologist yet, and honestly, I probably have a million questions 🤔 what’s really eating at me is how long I can keep these platelets under control before this turns into something way more complicated... I guess I'm just terrified because I've got two little kids and I really want to be around for them 🙂
Anyone else here dealing with an essential thrombocythemia diagnosis? 🙂... I just found out based on my blood work, and I tested positive for JAK2 V617F. Now I'm just sitting around waiting for the bone marrow biopsy results, and honestly, I'm freaking out. My primary care doctor won't even refer me to a hematologist yet, and I feel like I'm losing my mind...
