Cover's wife and daughter have been fighting tooth and nail this entire time just to get their hands on the inheritance that rightfully belongs to them. When you look at it through that lens, her denial actually makes perfect sense. Furthermore, wouldn't Kuže's previous crusade against Cover being labeled a money lender simply be an attempt to protect the assets he had built up?
