Strange taste in part of my mouth in Dentistry & Oral Hygiene ·
It has been quite some time since I dealt with a sore throat, during which I was taking Augmentin and using a medicated throat spray, but now I am experiencing a strange, sour, bitter taste on one specific spot on my palate whenever I touch it with my tongue.
I went to see my primary care physician, and while she didn't see anything unusual, I plan to follow up with a specialist since this just won't go away. I haven't been able to find any accounts of anyone experiencing something similar, and honestly, it’s making me a bit anxious; does anyone know what might be causing this?

Actually, I just realized I missed a zero in my previous note. The reference interval is actually 0–0.06, but my result came back at 0.10, which is flagged as "H" for high. On the other hand, my Basophil percentage is 1.0, which is considered normal. My doctor mentioned this could be an indication of a viral infection or perhaps an allergy. Does anyone else experience this?
Hi everyone, I’ve been struggling with a sore throat for about 20 days now. I went through two full courses of antibiotics, but nothing seems to help; my throat stays red, scratchy, and quite painful. I finally got some blood work back yesterday, and everything looks great except for my Basophil count. The reference range goes up to 0.6, but mine came back at 0.10. This really rattled me—could someone explain what this actually means? What do these levels signify, and is there any risk of leukemia?
Also, my CRP levels are normal, and both my lymphocytes and WBC counts are within the healthy range.

Bleeding during menopause: Is this normal? in Women's Health ·
Could someone please offer some guidance? My mother is 53, and since she went through menopause a few years ago, she suddenly experienced bleeding again recently.
She’s currently dealing with a pelvic infection; she visited her doctor because of the pain, had an ultrasound performed, and was prescribed antibiotics to treat the inflammation.
I’m feeling quite anxious because this kind of bleeding shouldn't be happening at her age, according to what I've read online.
She stays current with her Pap smears, though she does have uterine fibroids.
Is this something we should be deeply concerned about? What steps should we take next, especially since she doesn't seem to view the situation as serious?
Chest tightness/burning sensation in Women's Health ·
The bumps feel similar to a mosquito bite, though it’s possible that's all it is. I don't recall actually being bitten, and while I would have taken a photo, I can't get to one right now :/ The heat has died down a little bit, at least.

I’ve had this sensation of warmth on the right side of my body, specifically just under my right breast, lasting all day. I wouldn't call it a burning sensation, but rather a distinct feeling of heat...
Could this be related to something else? Yesterday, I woke up with two red bumps on my elbow, almost like insect bites. Is it possible they are connected?
