When I decided to ignore you, you actually increased your activity because you thrive on chaos. Then, when someone hits back, suddenly you're innocent and clueless.

The solution for you and the other trolls is to open a PDF where I can explain a few things clearly without being reported or banned. Then you'll see how quickly you leave.

This thread is proof that such a PDF is necessary for the forum.

It is quite fascinating to watch people demand justice and rights on a forum where they refuse to follow the rules, only to be supported by those doing the exact same thing. I am referring specifically to Praying Mantis, who is a mere clone of Tempest Storm, and hiddenseal3, who is a clone of Lovecat—who previously started a thread here complaining about chats being closed, though she used a different persona so you wouldn't recognize her...

One of last night's posts remains, and I wish to distance myself from it, as I have done nothing to harm L3gu or any other moderator...

All of this was triggered because I sent a message to Dimiti to inform him that they reopened the chat, even though they were forbidden from doing so after the last incident on the Off topic subforum, especially since they already have a chat on the Miscellaneous subforum...

After Dimiti closed the chat, they simply opened a new one. That is how they respect moderator decisions...☕

They already have a chat available to them, and there are plenty of chats on this forum, but they don't care for the existing community; they just want a chat exclusively for themselves...☕

I see nothing wrong with exercising my right to report posts or contact a moderator when necessary. Or perhaps it is better not to bother, since the clones and the trolls are clearly more protected than the regular users who actually follow the rules...

If you allow them to continue venting their frustrations here instead of in some dive bar, then I will step aside so I do not get in their way...

I have no idea what anyone is talking about, but I am speaking about a general policy change regarding a PDF that would allow for more intense debate, because judging by this thread, people seem to crave it...👍

In my view, all the insults and threats made here are harmless and won't escalate into anything significant.
Of course, I'm not suggesting death threats or violence should be permitted. Boundaries are necessary.
But getting banned just because I call someone an idiot in a chat, they call me the same thing back, and then we move on... to me, that’s just unnecessary sterilization of normal human interaction.

Beyond that, I am fundamentally in favor of being able to call an idiot an idiot. On one of the forums I used to participate in, we had an arena. They didn't count posts there, but any posts that went off-topic or became insulting were moved into separate threads where you could say whatever you wanted. The issue with a system like that was that people would eventually just bypass the main thread and go straight to the sub-forum... because they weren't interested in debating others, they just wanted to type in the area where they usually hang out.

I look at examples like 4chan or some of those world-famous forums that make this site look like a nursery. You can even insult people on racial, religious, or gender lines there. And yet, it is full of interesting topics. From what I can see, people don't insult each other on the interesting topics. When the topic itself is stupid, everything starts flying... because that is just natural.

In principle, I am all for telling someone they are stupid on any topic... but since I know there is no chance of that happening here, I at least want there to be a sub-forum I can go to to tell someone what I actually think.
And once we cool off, we return to constructive discussion... 🙂

We are all well aware of the community guidelines regarding trolling, flame wars, insults, and so on. Violations are consistently met with warnings or bans, which is appropriate. It is standard procedure.
Such behavior fundamentally derails discussions, making threads unreadable for those who aren't looking for a fight.

However, let’s be honest: trolling, flaming, and insults are inherent parts of human interaction, whether people want to admit it or not. How often have you said something just to provoke a reaction, or bluntly told someone they were being an idiot?
The closer people are, the more leeway they tend to give one another for this kind of conduct.
Among close friends, it is perfectly normal to say almost anything to one another.

So, here is my proposition: why shouldn't there be a specific sub-forum where users can call each other stupid? And where that sentiment is reciprocated. We would still strictly prohibit any racial or religious slurs, as those are legally actionable issues.

But calling someone a moron during the heat of a debate shouldn't be an issue for this site... especially if it's contained within a single dedicated thread where people can speak without filters.

The result would be a much cleaner main forum. If you clash with someone in a different section, instead of creating chaos and ruining a thread—and creating extra work for the moderators—you simply move that conflict to the designated area.

The site could even set that section to private, restricting access to registered members only to keep Google bots out.

Profanity is also a component of language, regardless of how many people try to deny it. Often, a well-placed curse describes a thought far more effectively than a string of polite sentences. After all, we are all here to put our actual thoughts onto digital paper. 🧐
