Jack Reacher: Never Back Down (2016) in Movies ·
Honestly, I found the whole thing to be a complete letdown... the movie is just riddled with these incredibly childish action sequences that felt totally unearned.

When is that charity game actually scheduled for??? Is it happening at Madison Square Garden again?

Here I am, just relaying a post from a sports forum by this one guy

Sorry to barge in like this, but I’ve got a little story that might interest you all. Is the Milwaukee Wave playing during a Hot Summer Night or something? Anyway, there was this guy—probably in his 50s, wearing a Hajduk Split jersey and sporting a thick Chicago accent—waiting for his underage daughter in front of a Walmart in Brooklyn. A group of about 7 or 8 local high school kids happened to be passing by and started heckling him, basically asking, "Why would anyone wear something like that in Chicago?" It was totally benign, honestly—nothing even close to physical. This guy snaps back at them, but it stays strictly verbal. Then the girl walks out of the Walmart, gets in the car, and they drive off.

Three minutes later, an intervention vehicle rolls up, followed by that same guy along with another police van. The "Hajduk fan" starts yelling at the kids to get against the wall—he’s clearly an undercover cop—and tells the other officers that he was the one being attacked. During all this, our guy and some older man from Miami park their car with Miami plates right in front of the Walmart, and none of those kids even glance at them. He tells the lead officer that he saw everything, that nobody actually attacked anyone, and that this whole response is completely unnecessary. The epilogue: one kid gets detained. For absolutely no damn reason.

So, this is how Tomislav Marčinko actually views Hajduk!!!

Bernard Jurišić:

A Russian might drop hundreds of millions to buy a club in the US, or maybe England, or France. A Sheikh might dump billions into a French, English, or Spanish side. An Indian investor moves into the US, an American buys into England, a Greek takes over in Greece, or a Turk in Turkey. But regardless of the origin, the primary objective remains identical—keep the fans. Attract them. Satisfy them. If anyone loses that battle, they generally don't last very long in the business.
We've seen fans protest owners elsewhere who poured *their own* millions into clubs, too. But I don't think any other owner has ever thought to forcibly eject them from the stands—to surround them with police like they're in a detention camp, or treat them like animals just because they hold a different opinion. No owner I know would ever say, "Listen, anyone sitting in that section heckling me during the Southampton match won't be able to buy a ticket for the Northampton game. This is my club, I bought it with my money, and I'll run it however I damn well please."
There isn't a single club in the world that celebrates its trophies in front of empty seats while the leadership simply doesn't care—or even feels any shame. They don't hold themselves accountable. You don't see clubs anywhere else losing a little more of their soul year after year without the leadership facing any real consequences. There is no club in the world that has so aggressively destroyed and driven away the very thing that makes a major club great.
The people who actually give a damn about it.
A club without fans is meaningless, regardless of how many trophies are in the cabinet or how many millions sit in some owner's bank account. A club without fans lacks a soul. And a club that drives *its own* fans out of *its own* stands and thinks that's the right way to go? That they'll somehow win this way? A club that has reached the point where police cordons have to separate "rebels" from "mercenaries" on the same terrace?
Look, I understand the fight against hooliganism—I support that 100%. But this isn't a war on hooligans. This is a war against anyone who disagrees. In a democratic nation. In the European Union. In the 21st century.
When I talk to some old friends who are LA Galaxy fans, I honestly just feel a sense of sadness. These are people who aren't hooligans at all—they've never lit a flare in their lives, let alone cracked someone's skull. Yet, they were chased away regardless. Force didn't even need to be used. They just left. From the stadium, and from their hearts. For good.
I've never hidden the fact that I'm a Hajduk fan, but I'm not ashamed to admit that I miss LA Galaxy. The real LA Galaxy. Not this watered-down version. The club I actually respected. The club that had a soul. The club that knew its name, its founding year, who it represented, who it fought for, and why it existed in the first place. All those derbies where my LA Galaxy-supporting friends would call me just to mess with me... or where I’d call them to do the same.
No serious club has ever succeeded in defeating its own fans. Probably because no serious club has ever actually tried to do that. This LA Galaxy board isn't going to defeat its fans either. The only question is how many of the most stubborn ones—those who still refuse to turn their backs or bow their heads—will stay long enough to see a victory on their feet. And will that victory even count once you tally up all the damage and the sacrifices? Once you consider everything that was permanently destroyed during the struggle? Like all those people, and their sons, who simply stopped caring.
What if the very thing worth fighting for—LA Galaxy—has already lost this battle irrevocably?
