It is seriously awesome that you've started getting your sugar levels under control.
Since we’re talking about potential diabetes here, I have a few things I'm curious about.
Have you had a chance to sit down with your doctor to go over specific foods yet? Also—did they give you any pointers on what to do if you hit a hypoglycemic low?
Can you tell me a bit more about those nauseous feelings you mentioned—did you deal with any headaches too?
I noticed nobody was really chiming in, so I figured I’d jump in with a few thoughts of my own...
Honestly, I’m a little confused about what you’re aiming for with this thread—are we treating this as a support group, or just a spot to swap tips and life lessons? You dropped a bunch of points, but one thing specifically caught my eye regarding the baked goods stuff. In my experience, that doesn't just apply to mass-produced snacks from places like Safeway or Kroger. There's a huge difference between various natural sugar syrups and artificial sweeteners—and don't get me wrong, those fake stuff isn't exactly "healthy" either—but I don't see them playing the same role when we're talking about actual sugar addiction.
In your opening post, you mentioned you're starting to kick the habit, but you didn't really lay out the *how* or what your game plan actually looks like.
Maybe everyone is just sitting back waiting for you to actually start the process so you can report back on how it's going and what methods you're using?
And just a side note, the whole debate over sugar addiction pops up all over the place here, like in the threads about Candida.
Claiming people are overweight simply because they're "victims" of an addiction they aren't even aware of... I mean, it's definitely not quite that black and white.
