I've run into a bit of a headache in Excel.

So, I have 6 numbers spread out across the first two rows (you can see this in the first screenshot). In cell F10, I’m using a "COUNTIF" formula to count how many ones are in that specific range...



Here's where it gets annoying: after setting it up, I insert a new row above the first one containing three more ones. However, the formula in cell F10—which has now shifted down to F11—isn't updating the total correctly. It should be showing 5 instead of just staying at 2. ???

It looks like using the $ sign isn't actually solving the problem (as you can see in the second image), because even though I used absolute references like $A$1:$C$5, the range automatically shifted to $A$2:$C$6 once I added the row.

I’ve got MS Word 2010 set to American English, but whenever I try to type anything, every single word gets flagged with those annoying red squiggly lines from the spellchecker. Strangely enough, if I type an English word, the red lines disappear completely.

How can I fix the settings so it actually recognizes American English instead of flagging everything for no reason?

I tried messing around with the language settings and stuff like that, but nothing seems to work.
Help
