Oh yeah, does the Asus P5K motherboard support an Intel Core 2 duo 3.0 GHz 64 bit OS?
Alright. So if I make the jump to 64-bit—I checked the system requirements and I’ve definitely got more than enough juice—will it actually affect my PC in any other way besides just making things faster? Are there any other catches I should know about?
Hey. I’m looking to jump up to a 64-bit OS on my current rig. First things first, let me lay out what I'm working with here.
CPU: Intel Core 2 duo 3.0 GHz
GPU: Radeon HD 3870 RAM
RAM: 4 GB
HDD: Western Digital 640
I figure this setup should be plenty beefy enough for 64-bit... right? But a buddy of mine tried running the 64-bit version of Windows XP and ran into a massive headache because he couldn't get the framework installed. And without that, you can't even launch basic apps, let alone games. So, is it actually worth making the switch if I just want to watch movies, game, and do the usual stuff that works fine on 32-bit? 🤷
Thanks 🙏
Alright then! I'm downloading it!
Hey. I’m thinking about giving Vista a shot, but I also want to check out Windows 7. Should I just jump straight to a specific version that’s actually decent, or should I mess around with both first? Thanks
