Just imagine—a 16-year-old girl actually knows more than you do. She’s probably eating you alive right now.

I'll just play dumb and not ask why this hasn't been flagged as a card protest. 🤦

Come on, explain why Greta thinks she knows way more than some guy on a forum? 🍿

Are you trying to say that you believe you have the right to strip others of their constitutional rights whenever you feel like it? This is exactly how you communicate before you even attempt to call me rude.

ruggedfox6 said:Look, I’m no doctor, but isn't criticizing someone just because you’re feeling inadequate or jealous a bit much? It feels like a childish attempt to bait people into an emotional reaction. Basically, it's just trolling.

The bigger issue is that people who claim to be smart actually stoop to that level just to say something to someone like that.
These are the kinds of people who would act like dictators, trying to force their opinions on everyone else. It’s just not mature, it's not smart, and it certainly isn't educated.

There’s probably no moderator because nobody is actually reporting any posts. They'd have to read through way too much stuff just to figure out who needs a ban. Besides, moderators have lives, for crying out loud...

Jeremy Brooks87 said:no way to undo this for this account👍

What part don't you get?

With that account, he basically said goodbye to Reddit, asked for a permanent ban for himself, and made sure everyone thought he was leaving for good.

Then, on the flip side, he just opened a second account without even telling anyone who he was.

It makes his motives pretty obvious.

But he's just being shady...

p.s. I changed my nickname once too, but I just stopped using the old one. I didn't make a whole scene or try to pull a stunt. What he did goes against the site rules, so I'm curious to see if the moderators actually step in and deal with this kind of sneaky behavior...

lonetrucker4 said:@Noah Fowler3: Like I said, this isn't the place to continue a discussion that already has its own thread, nor is it the place for the lessons you seem to need.

I'm no expert. I never claimed to be; just someone who knows enough to be dangerous. I'm not an environmentalist either.

Look, colleague, this is quite the pivot. 🍿

I suppose this kind of "pushback" was expected... Honestly, finding answers to my questions via Google is tough, almost impossible. 😁
Luckily, I had a professor for this subject who was actually brilliant. They gave us real insight into both sides of the argument, because back then—just like now—there wasn't a total consensus on exactly how much humans contribute to global warming.

So, thanks for the mention, but I don't need a lecture. My college education covered what I need to know about this topic—I get it. I have a decent grasp of chaos physics, too. Enough to know when someone is trying to sell me a load of nonsense. Your refusal to answer my questions says a lot about you (yeah, I'm leaning toward calling it propaganda and political maneuvering here).

And yes, you did claim to be an expert. When you mentioned meeting Paar back in the 80s and telling him he was wrong, you positioned yourself above him. Paar is the expert, so anyone acting superior to him is clearly an expert too.

You aren't an environmentalist, yet the only work I can find online is related to ecology? Interesting...

A quick search also shows you're a journalist and a politician with extreme leftist views. If you hadn't presented yourself as a scientist on this forum, I wouldn't have even suspected it.

Also, thanks for the invite to the other thread, but I have no interest in debating people who refuse to listen to opposing views and resort to name-calling, especially when moderators step in to issue card protests for hate speech.

Thanks for reading,

Permanent ban in Feedback & Suggestions ·
A user just opened a clone account using the exact handle they’re trying to get perm for, and then went ahead and posted a goodbye letter because—get this—they’re supposedly leaving the forum.

The motives here are pretty obvious. ☕

lonetrucker4 said:@John: I told you how I see things because it might be relevant, even though I'm not a moderator on Politics and I wasn't the one who issued that card. I'm not going to get into an argument here.

So where are the answers to my questions? You act like an expert on these issues—which are directly tied to chaos physics—and then turn around and call the expert's words nothing but nonsense. Isn't that hate speech?

It doesn't surprise me at all that people jump on posts just to find any excuse to troll (which moderators have been treating as personal bias for years), but where are the actual facts?

Climatologists agree? Well, I also agree that we have global warming, but would it exist without human influence? Yes, it would. So, human activity is accelerating global warming, not starting it. Why is that never clearly explained to the public? Because propaganda is being spread that serves certain interests. Period. We have a situation where electric cars are viewed as eco-friendly, but nobody wants to look at how batteries are manufactured or how much those battery plants pollute. That kind of hypocrisy wears me out.

And excuse me, but someone who is 16 certainly can't possess enough knowledge to be considered a factor in a topic that relies on models and long-term data measurement. Theory is one thing; practice is quite another. Wisdom and quality of knowledge come with age. To me, it’s perfectly logical that a 60-year-old will be wiser than a 40-year-old.

Here, I'm trying to Google your name to see your references. All I find is that you are an environmentalist, not a climatologist, and that you have political leanings.

I'll say it again: I only care about the facts and answers to real questions. Since you present yourself as an expert, you should surely be able to answer them. 🙂
Greta Thunberg in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I'm also interested in hearing the answer to that question!

The opinion expressed in that post is based on real premises. I only see a reason for a card protest because the data presented wasn't backed up by links to actual articles.

Also, why does Reddit side with the propaganda this time, just like they have countless times before?

Common sense implies questioning every single viewpoint or opinion. By censoring that scrutiny, you aren't educating anyone—you're just spreading propaganda instead of doing something useful.

Since we're talking about climate, there are a few fundamental questions that the climate propaganda fails to answer:
1. Even back in elementary school, we learned that Earth goes through warm and ice ages throughout its existence—on average, how long do the warm periods last versus the ice ages?
2. How long has this current warm period lasted, or rather, how long ago did the last ice age end?
3. What were the CO2 concentrations in the years immediately preceding the last ice age compared to what they are now?
4. What is the exact percentage of human influence on global warming? In other words, what would the situation look like today if humans had zero impact?

It's undeniable that humans influence many parts of Earth's ecosystem, but let's stick to the facts without pushing propaganda.

Thanks for understanding,

AoT didn't shut me down; she just went quiet, much like I did with her. 🤣 She can say whatever she wants, but it doesn't change the fact that this whole thing is just a troll fest on your end..

The bottom line is you haven't brought a single shred of evidence for your claims. You just keep piling on new, baseless accusations. It makes you look like nothing more than a common gossip, just like you have for years now.

Honestly, thanks for exposing yourself to the moderators like this—again. I couldn't ask for a better lawyer. 😍

So you're claiming I insulted women without actually showing any proof? How does that even work? 😲
Pure trolling and blatant lies in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Hani, women actually go for bald guys, so I’m not even making fun of him 😉

Anyway, when am I finally going to get my own wife? 🙂
Pure trolling and blatant lies in Feedback & Suggestions ·
The33 is still the same story to me. He racked up those bans because he was following you around the forum, making false accusations and jumping down your throat.

I appreciate you calling out how he keeps picking fights, too.

But I’m still waiting to see those posts where I supposedly insult women.🍿
Pure trolling and blatant lies in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Thanks for quoting a post that's actually insulting me. But where exactly am I insulting women?

Go ahead, I'm waiting, 🍿

And let's not get into who likes me or doesn't on this thread. It's irrelevant. If you don't like someone, you just ignore them. But since we're talking about popularity, how many people actually like you? 🙂

Maria Johnson said:So you claim you live alone (though I have my doubts), which should mean you're calm and relaxed. But then I read your outbursts and how you insult women on the MK boards here, and honestly, I don't know what to think.☕

What do you mean by that?☕

I'm asking for false accusations to be penalized, especially when they happen on threads that have nothing to do with the subject at hand.

The post was reported, but while it happened on the LJES board, the lying and trolling is actually spreading across three different PDFs (MK, DIK, and BR).

I’m requesting a statement from the MK moderators because I'm being accused of insulting women on their PDF, yet I don't have a single strike on my record for that. Thanks.

I opened this thread so we can just ignore posts like this moving forward.

Sarah Booth29 said:Don't give me that, Joe. You're just cheapening the argument to defend the conservative status quo.

Lovely way of putting it 😒 But no. 😁

I was lucky enough to have both sides of this coin presented at my university. Both perspectives hold truth.

The problem is your side only looks at one tiny slice of the country's history. It's like judging a person's entire life based solely on how they lived from age 75 to 80, completely ignoring everything they did during those first 75 years.

Go ahead, keep at it. Like I said before, I don't feel the need to correct anyone else's opinion. 😁

Sarah Booth29 said:What do you mean, insulting? You're embarrassing yourself, Joe. Nobody's blaming you for this.

Haha, I’m not being rude. I just have better things to do than try to correct a wrong Mississippi. We live in an era where all the info you need is right at your fingertips. Form your own opinion however you want.

But facts are facts. 😉

I don't see any point in arguing this further with you. You've already shown your hand. 😁

Sarah Booth29 said:So, you're just tossing out 200 years of scientific research because Google gave you a different result on your first try?

That argument doesn't hold any water. 🤣

Yet you're always so quick to jump in on threads like this... interesting.

Look, it’s not just about the last 200 years. The last 30 or 40 matter too, and the next few decades will matter even more. You could have Googled that, too—probably on the first try.

🤦

Trolling goes against the rules here. Enjoy your little ego trip. 😉

You know what people say about folks like that. 🍿

Sarah Booth29 said:... then there’s just a link to some blogger who went through a sponsored program for one of the biggest oil companies in the world 😂

https://www.desmogblog.com/joanne-nova

And she has zero expertise, zero published scientific papers, and zero scientific credibility to be talking about climate change

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joanne_Nova

What do they say about opinions? Especially when compared to peer-reviewed papers?

I didn't say I provided a relevant source 🤦 Google pulled it up instantly. I don't feel like digging through scientific literature at my age. Did enough of that back in college..

If you actually think 200 years matters in the earthly history of this country, go right ahead 😉 I'm not here to tell you what to think. I'm not getting paid for that 😛

Look, there are plenty of scientific papers online that provide a real look at what's actually happening.

http://joannenova.com.au/2010/02/the...rature-swings/

The info at this link isn't the sole truth, but it's definitely something to chew on regarding the other side of the coin.

Sure, I agree humans have played a part, but who can actually put a percentage on it? Or even estimate how many years we're pushing back an ice age? For all we know, how much has human activity actually slowed down the Gulf Stream?

Do you honestly think none of this would be occurring if it weren't for us?

Roger Castillo9 said:Like I mentioned in another thread, we're headed for a collapse if people just refuse to accept what's right in front of them. Maybe it's some kind of defense mechanism.

Toxic... if you don't buy that humans are the main driver here, then at least tell me where you're getting the idea that this has happened before. Come on. When else in history has the country warmed at this specific rate—degrees per year—rather than orders of magnitude slower? If it isn't us, then what is it?

It seems pretty logical to look at temperature shifts over the last 150-200 years when the Earth is billions of years old. I’d suggest showing some intellectual curiosity regarding the other side of the argument. Truth usually sits somewhere in the middle. 🙂

velvetbear372, nothing happening right now hasn't already happened dozens of times throughout Earth's history.

Do you honestly think an ice age just hits overnight?

Sure, humans have an impact, but if you look at carbon isotopes and average global temperatures, this ice age is running late—by a few centuries, at least.

Enjoy the summers while they last, because the next generations are going to be freezing year-round. Extinction? That’s also happened plenty of times in Earth's history, and there isn't much you can do about that either.
