I'm currently grinding through a book using MSW 2010—everything's fine in the main body, except for one massive headache I can't seem to shake. When I pull up the navigation pane, the chapter tree works just fine—I can jump back and forth without a hitch. But the numbering? It's a complete disaster. Some parts look okay, but then it just falls apart. Here’s what I’m seeing:

Everything is perfectly normal right up until chapter 3.3. Then—boom—chaos.
Quick question:
How do I actually get Word to auto-renumber all my chapters and subchapters properly so they actually follow the hierarchy?
