I need some help troubleshooting an Excel formula,
here’s the setup: the first column represents a quantity, which is then being added up in the second column via a running total (cell + cell)
unit
quantity total condition
0.30 9.64 0
0.26 9.91 0
0.16 10.06 0
3.47 13.53 0
0.23 13.76 0
5.55 19.31 1st row
0.06 19.37 0
0.22 19.59 0
What I’m trying to achieve in that third column (the condition)
is for the formula to trigger once the cumulative sum in column two hits a specific threshold—in this case, 17.
Once it hits that mark, it should flag the condition and then reset its logic to continue searching through subsequent rows, but it needs to account for the overflow from the previous calculation. For example, since 19.31 minus 13.76 equals 5.55, the next cycle should start counting from that 5.55 increment until it reaches the next 17.
I know I've made this sound unnecessarily complicated, but hopefully someone can make sense of what I'm after.
Thanks in advance,
P.
