Vaginal bumps/warts?

So, I’m completely new to all of this—would love it if you could share some of your experiences with me.
About a month ago, I noticed some white bumps—I honestly thought they were just ingrown hairs—but then a few days ago, another one popped up. After doing a bit of digging online, I found out they might be genital warts caused by HPV. My doctor checked me out and said it’s a mild strain, so he gave me a referral for cauterization. I am honestly terrified right now—is the procedure painful? What should I expect? Am I going to need follow-up treatments? Help xd
