Anyone still running Windows 7? in Software ·
Hey everyone! I’ve been going in circles for days now, trying to get straight answers from different companies and tech shops, but I’m still stuck on this one issue:

My office currently runs three computers on Windows XP, and we're finally making the jump to Windows 7.
Naturally, I want to make sure we're using genuine software just in case we ever face an audit.

I’ve spent days scouring the web reading about OEM vs. Retail versions, and honestly, it’s just making me more confused! Some places claim you can install Windows 7 Professional on multiple machines with a single license, yet then you see Windows 7 Professional OEM listed, which seems to be tied to just one computer. What gives?

I actually called a local IT consultant, and they told me I need this: link, but I have absolutely no clue what that even means.

Does anyone here know what the best way to handle this is?

You can find an AP at basically any electronics store out there.

That would definitely be easier! But here's the catch: I'm dealing with a multi-unit house, and I'm trying to "pass along" the signal from one unit to another. Right now, the connection is great in one part of the apartment, but it completely drops off in the other.

Nancy Hayes75, that's an interesting point, because I'm actually trying to "relay" the signal using this specific device.
But even if I did buy another one, wouldn't I still need to run a cable from the first one to the second to get that signal relayed? Wouldn't that be the case?

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone knows where I can pick up something like this locally...

I'm looking for a wireless router that can wirelessly pick up a signal from an existing Cisco and then broadcast it further out.

Here’s a rough idea of what I need:

Does anyone know the specific name for this type of device, about how much it might cost, and where I could find one in stock?
