Hydrogen Breath Test in Health ·
Does anyone happen to know if this is available anywhere? Maybe somewhere nearby—or even a bit further out, I suppose?
So, I guess you're saying I should probably get

"a B-hCG blood test, some tumor markers, an abdominal ultrasound, a consultation with a urologist, and maybe a testicular ultrasound"?

Besides all that—well, I’ve actually been taking zinc and magnesium every single day for quite a while now—months, even—so I suppose my zinc levels shouldn't be lacking anything. I only recently decided to stop.

I was mostly taking them because I was hitting the gym pretty regularly, and, honestly, it always helped me sleep a bit better.
Jose Clark2 said:Wait, what kind of medication are you actually taking? And what were your levels looking like before the estradiol spiked? I mean, an estradiol test doesn't always have to be perfectly accurate—if I were you, I might consider getting it re-tested, maybe even at a different lab just to be safe...

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by my values before the estradiol—are you referring to other markers?

Here is the full breakdown (with the standard ranges for men in parentheses):
albumin 43 (41-51)
estradiol 251.20 (28-156)
testosterone 21.9 (8.64 - 29)
ftc 0.427 (0.091-0.579)
ft% 2.02 (1.59 - 2.95)
progesterone 3.17 (0.7 - 4.3)
shbg 37.40 (16.50 - 55.90)
dht 414 (250-1000)

So, these are the numbers from before I started on that supplement. I decided to get checked out because this stuff is supposedly meant to nudge estrogen up a bit while bringing DHT down—it’s a blend of quercetin and saw palmetto, which has some pretty strong anti-inflammatory properties, I think—so I figured I'd see the baseline versus the results after. It isn't really a "medication" in the prescription sense, more like a herbal supplement, I guess. I actually started taking it to deal with some chronic prostatitis issues.

But, looking back, those levels from before I started the "medicine" seem a bit odd—specifically that estradiol number.

I had the tests done over at the Mayo Clinic.
Jose Clark2 said:So, what’s your weight situation—are we talking overweight or just low body fat? And how old are you? What kind of health issues led you to check your hormone levels in the first place?

Well, I'm 29. I'm carrying a bit of extra weight—around 220 pounds, I guess—but since I'm pretty tall, about 6'5", I wouldn't really say I'm overweight.

I decided to get my levels checked because I started taking some medication for a different issue—something that might potentially shift my sex hormone balance a little—so I figured it would be smart to have a baseline to compare against later on.

Do you think my current situation is actually serious, or... maybe not?
Hey everyone,

I was wondering if anyone here might have some insight into whether having high estradiol levels is actually a cause for concern—just to clarify, I’m a guy.

So, I recently went in to get my hormone levels checked—looking at both male and female markers, I guess—and
my testosterone, free testosterone, and DHT all came back somewhere in the middle or slightly elevated (though still within the standard healthy range). Progesterone seems fine too, but my estradiol is sitting well above the upper limit of what’s considered normal.

From what I can see, the typical range for men is roughly 28 to 156, but mine is sitting at 251.

My primary care physician mentioned that it isn't necessarily an emergency, but honestly, seeing those numbers on paper looks pretty alarming to me.

Should I be worried about this, and if so, what kind of specialist should I probably reach out to for a second opinion?

Thanks so much in advance for any help you can give!
