Underrated movies? in Movies ·
I don't usually sit through an entire movie if I have the remote in my hand, but if I’m at the theater, I usually stick it out until the credits roll. Except for that passionate music lover Gibson film—I walked out halfway through.
Look, go vent your frustrations at your own mother. That was just some fanatic, deranged behavior; I honestly don't know how any sane person sits through that.

That said, high-tension scenes are hard for me. Anything involving intense discomfort or public humiliation is almost unbearable. For example, in Two Lovers, when Phoenix goes to dinner with the girl he likes and her boyfriend? I couldn't watch that.
Or Aubrey Plaza and all that chaotic energy in Ingrid goes West.
Both movies are great, though. I really need to sit down and watch them properly from the start. Phew.
Help choosing between these laptops? in Laptops ·
restlessnomad8 said:Hey,
I'm looking for a laptop with a budget of around $2333. I play games occasionally, but I want to be able to run things like Grand Theft Auto V or Call of Duty. I also need Linux. I was considering a Dell Inspiron, but I read there might be some issues running Linux on that specific model, so I don't want to take the risk.
I'm torn between these two:
1.HP Pavilion with an Intel Core i5 7300HQ 2.50GHz, 8GB RAM, 1TB, Linux 17.3" Full HD, Nvidia GeForce GTX1050Ti 4GB P/N: NX.GPGEX.015

2.HP Victus with an Intel Core i5 7300HQ 2.50GHz, 8GB RAM, 1TB SATA + 128GB SSD, Linux 15.6" IPS Full HD, Nvidia GeForce GTX1050Ti 4GB P/N: NH.Q2QEX.004

The Nitro looks better to me. It has an IPS screen and an SSD, so it won't wreck your eyes and the machine will feel much faster.
(I don't get this whole Dell-Linux issue, though. Can't you just download any Linux OS from the web and install it? They're free and there are endless options to choose from. 🕺)
Help, I'm getting old! in Music ·
says:
plus, today's charts are dominated by pop stars, whereas back in the 80s, rock still held the crown. maybe you just aren't a fan of pop? 😁

To me, nothing "dominates" today's charts except pure cash. It crossed my mind recently that there were reports about how Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, and several others faked their Twitter follower counts and YouTube views. I can't stand that crowd, yet most people actually believe they are real musicians. God forbid we encounter such mindless people, but behind them stands a massive propaganda machine designed to brainwash the naive.

The truth, however, is that modern music—aside from the toxic waste mentioned above, because there is some good stuff out there too—lacks any new, original style. It means nothing to "Generation X." Everything being listened to today is just recycled versions of what was played before the internet era, back when musical styles shifted radically every decade.

Now, nothing changes. New generations are falling behind the old ones. They say this is the first time in history that's happened.
