But why is that?
It comes down to the fact that the technology simply became too expensive to maintain. Even the manufacturers themselves have largely abandoned it, opting instead to push high-end inkjet line printers for those exact same requirements. You see, these modern inkjets don't rely on that old-fashioned print head that rattles back and forth across the page. Instead, they utilize a print head that is as wide as the paper format itself. It makes for a much simpler machine—which translates to a significantly lower price tag. Plus, when you factor in the consumables, the running costs are drastically lower.
In my estimation, color lasers are essentially a dead end in this specific category if you're looking at the long game.
Fair enough, but which ones specifically? Which inkjet line printers are we talking about?
I’m looking for some advice on picking out a multifunction printer. I need something that hits all the marks: color laser, scanner, copier, Wi-Fi, and duplex printing, ideally sitting somewhere in the $200 to $1000 range. It would be used for an accounting office and a small boutique travel agency I run. I've been eyeing a couple of options so far:
Canon i-SENSYS MF8280CW

or perhaps
HP LaserJet Pro M177FW

Thanks for any help you can give me.
Can anyone tell me if this setup is actually worth the asking price? I'm mainly looking to get some gaming done here:

Western Digital, Caviar 80 GB, WD800JB, 9 ms, 8MB, Ultra ATA/100, DATALifeguard, 23Mb/sec, 7200rpm, EIDE, 3 YEAR warranty
MSI MIDI VENUS SILVER 4HA-0207-2-400W - MSI MIDI TOWER, SECC METAL, USB 2.0, AUDIO IN I OUT, 400W POWER SUPPLY WITH TWO 8CM FANS

I'd appreciate it if someone could let me know if there's anything else I should add, or if there's any particular component here that looks questionable, assuming I want to stay within a similar budget.
