Ashley White92 said:Hey everyone,

I’ve been digging through the gambling laws lately, and now I’m spiraling over Article 68, Section 2. Apparently, participating in foreign gambling sites is prohibited if you’re placing bets while physically located in the US. The fines are supposedly between $1,500 and $7,500. I have an account open at DraftKings, though I used my local Visa card for deposits, whereas most of you seem to use Skrill and stuff like that. I haven't made any withdrawals since I haven't actually won anything yet.

What do you guys think? Is there a real chance they catch me and slap me with a fine?

So many people play on offshore sites—some even win big and pull their cash out—and honestly, I haven't heard of anyone getting busted. But look, if you really want to spend your time worrying about this and scaring everyone else on the forum, go talk to Vasa. He’s posted quite a bit on the previous pages; he knows the ins and outs of all these bans and legal penalties.

It’s one of those things that people think they can get away with, but the authorities aren't playing around. If you get caught, the fines for individuals are brutal, ranging anywhere from $10,000 all the way up to $50,000. Not exactly the kind of windfall you're looking for when you're chasing a parlay. $0.00 ☕

Out of your last 86 posts, you've spent 74 of them just trying to scare people away from using offshore betting sites. Honestly, it’s all a bit much. None of what you're saying actually holds water because, let's be real, everyone is still betting the exact same way. So, anyway... You’re trolling, you're lying, and you're doing it just to screw over your own people. If you're that terrified of taking a gamble, then just don't bet. Honestly, I’m fairly certain you’ve never even placed a wager in your life, so there’s really no need to come in here and harass everyone else on the forum.

New York City vs Rio de Janeiro 1 @ 2.10

My pick for today is the famous New York City. It's a side that, after those initial two wins, hasn't managed to find the winner's circle once in their last 12 matches. Sure, they had lineup issues early on, but things are finally stabilizing, and they can't really hide behind excuses anymore.

To put this incredible slump into perspective: imagine if Thierry Henry and Lukas Podolski both went down with injuries at Arsenal, leading to a losing streak just like this, right before a match against West Ham.

Rio de Janeiro isn't having exactly easy times either, making them look like the perfect opponent for New York City to finally snap this streak and grab a win.

Respectful analysis, truly, but I’m just not convinced today is the day the dam finally breaks. You said basically the same thing last Sunday—and what happened then? They could easily slide through a few more lackluster performances before a victory actually shows up. Not a bad shot to take, I suppose, but acting like it's a sure thing... well, I'm not there yet.

hollowfox152 said:I actually found myself liking this "self-control" feature they added on the site—I only just stumbled upon it recently. It lets you set your own daily or weekly spending limits, or even loss caps. Honestly, I didn't expect a platform whose whole business model relies on getting people to deposit more money and lose it all to offer something like this. But then again, there's a catch. You can just toggle the setting off whenever you feel like it, which makes the whole thing feel somewhat pointless. Maybe I'm just doing something wrong, but somehow I always manage to disable it.

It’s a remarkably clever feature, isn't it? You get to dictate your own "self-control," adjusting the limits whenever you please. If you set them too low and end up hitting the cap, you just turn it off and go again. The only thing more brilliant than that is being able to discuss it here on the forum and wonder aloud just how much sense it actually makes.

Well, now even I'm at a loss for how to help. Throw an idea my way, and maybe we can sort this out. Perhaps the sportsbook could resolve the issue regardless of the fact that you aren't in the States. It's worth asking.

Yesterday I placed a bet at a local sportsbook, and I’ve got an active online account set up.

Now I'm wondering—is it actually possible to have a winning ticket credited directly to my account? Or am I stuck just using credit cards for everything...

The biggest perk of a place like DraftKings is being able to walk in and pay cash, so you don't have to mess around with credit cards, vouchers, or whatever else. Basically, if you hit a winner, you just head down to the shop, talk to the clerk, and instead of stuffing the cash in your pocket, you give them your account number or username and they deposit it right there. Then you walk out empty-handed, but feeling pretty good knowing you can keep playing from the comfort of your own couch later.

I don't live in any of those areas myself—but honestly, if you had just provided a reason... maybe someone would actually bother responding to you.

And even if you aren't from there, what's this supposed motive? Just plain old curiosity???
