Importing from China in Business, Accounting & Taxes ·
Hey there.

So, we run this retail shop where we sell various goods. Mostly, we just act as a middleman for stuff sourced domestically or maybe some things from the European Union.

The point is, the specific inventory we’re looking at right now is Chinese.

We haven't actually pulled anything directly from China yet, so I was hoping someone could walk me through the ropes here.

First off, what’s the deal with customs lately? Especially with how the European Union has been tightening things up and hiking tariffs on Chinese imports.

Also, how do you vet a supplier? Like, how can I be sure I'm dealing with a legitimate, serious company and not some fly-by-night operation?

And then there's the logistics side of things. How does shipping actually work? From what I gather, it probably lands in a port like Cleveland or San Francisco, and then it's on me to arrange the trucking from there, right?

What kind of taxes or duties am I looking at in total?

Any specific paperwork or declarations needed?

Any help would be much appreciated. 🙂
Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
Hey there.

I'm looking for a decent general practitioner over in Indianapolis.

The main thing is that they actually need to be good, and ideally, they have some kind of appointment system. I can't deal with that whole "first come, first served" chaos where you just show up at the door and find ten people already standing there waiting.

Just to be clear: I’m switching away from Albina Dumić. She isn't great as a doctor—she either gives me the wrong referrals or messes up my prescriptions, and honestly, I barely even go to the doctor. Plus, the wait times are just endless.

TOTAL NIGHTMARE!!!

So, I'm asking for recommendations. As you can probably tell, I just walked out of her office after waiting for an hour, and I still hadn't even been seen because I have to get to work. Her sign says she starts at 7:00, so I asked the nurse if it was even worth staying since I start my shift at 8:00, and she just told me to keep waiting. It was 7:55 and she hadn't seen a single patient. Then, of course, someone who clearly cut the line just waltzed right in and she saw them instead.

Man, what a headache.

Jason Rivera2 said:Yeah, it’s fine, no big deal. My guy wasn't really feeling the whole crystal vibe anyway—he’s a small-town kid at heart, so he doesn't see much beyond his own backyard 🙂 but we went just to see what was out there. As for the music, we didn't have any issues; we actually picked our date based on the lineup. We're booking Quattro to play, and honestly, they're the absolute best 🙂

To me, the "top-tier" stuff always seems to be the most overpriced. 🙂 But hey, whatever. We'll just see what ends up working out for us.

Hey. Thanks. Yeah. Sorry, but we’re stuck with just one slot for September 2013. 🙂

I’ve been hearing all this too. Honestly, I even heard the food isn't actually that bad and they have plenty of it, but lately, the word on the street is about how slow the service is. People say you go out to hit the dance floor and by the time you get back, your order is long gone. So, I’ll make sure to give them a heads-up so they don't pull that on us. Plus, I figure things will probably smooth out a bit by then anyway.

Now I'm just stressing over the music. I haven't got a clue what kind of vibe to go for or how much of it we'll need.

Hey, does anyone happen to have recommendations for a wedding band? Looking for something to play for the guests at a reception. If possible, I’d love to find someone relatively budget-friendly, though my fiancée is pretty set on having both male and female vocalists. Just please, anything except Viva Band. (It’s not that they aren't good or too pricey, I just have my own personal reasons for wanting to skip them.)

Thanks.

Still haven't heard anything concrete about the Crystal ballroom. Can anyone weigh in? What do you guys actually think of the place—the good, the bad, all of it? For instance, I heard a rumor from some thin lady that the food portions are pretty pathetic. I don't know if there's any truth to that, but honestly, if it were up to me, I’d want a much bigger spread. So, yeah, could use a quick breakdown of the pros and cons.

So, I’ve got a few questions about wedding venues. My fiancée and I are narrowing down our options, and right now we're stuck between two places in Indianapolis: Crystal and Zelenkrov.

Now, look, I’ve actually been to Zelenkrov a couple of times, and from a guest's perspective? It was great. Everything felt smooth. But honestly, I have no clue what it’s actually like from the couple's side of things—you know, the actual planning and organization part.

The real headache is Crystal. I am hitting a total brick wall trying to find anything online about them. Like, zero reviews, zero feedback, nothing. I can't find a single person's opinion on the place. So, if anyone here has actually used Crystal for an event, could you please, please let me know how it went?

Thanks.
Buying a 22" monitor in Computer Peripherals ·
I'm looking to pick up a 22" monitor

My budget is sitting around $533 $150.

Mainly, I’m just wondering if anyone could point me toward a specific model or even just a reliable brand. Is there one brand that stands out over the others?

Also, if you guys know which shop—maybe an online retailer—is the most affordable or just generally the most trustworthy to order from, let me know.

I've been browsing a bit and was actually leaning toward these two models to start with, but honestly, there are so many options out there that I'm feeling totally stuck.

A Samsung monitor for about $90 to $110
The Samsung M2262DP for roughly $453

But, from what I can gather, the differences between these two seem pretty negligible.

I'd really appreciate any advice. And hey, don't feel limited to those two I mentioned; I'm open to anything.

Thanks!
