Arming Ukraine in War in Ukraine ·
USA rejects Polish plan involving MiG jets: It's simply unfeasible and carries too much risk

It seemed pretty obvious to me that they couldn't even agree among themselves, let alone figure out the logistics and delivery...
Sanctions on Russia in War in Ukraine ·
Thomas Walker84 said:With PepsiCo, Coca-Cola, McDonald's, and Starbucks all pulling out today, I think people over there might finally start realizing that something is seriously wrong with this "special operation" in Ukraine.

It's hard to tell when things will click for them... since you can't get a representative sample... 🤷 It doesn't make sense to just poll major cities (like Moscow or St. Petersburg), but if a rebellion starts there, it might be enough to turn everything against Putin.

Importing from China in Business, Accounting & Taxes ·
I'm looking into importing some tech gear from China, so I was wondering about the tax implications for smaller orders. Specifically, at what threshold do duties kick in, and which ones apply?
Is it true that there are no duties on items under $50?

Thanks in advance for any help!

And here we go, yet another generic thread about printers "all-in-one device"

The thread you just locked—the one where a debate actually started breaking out recently—was opened way back in 2003... wow 😵
You had over ten years to close it, and you only decide to act now because a discussion is heating up, then you have the nerve to claim I'm being offensive 😵

To draw a parallel, the mods are operating exactly like those outdated technical solutions from the late 20th century

Why on earth does it bother you when someone brings up technical specs that nobody actually cares about?

In a thread with the incredibly creative title "printer," a discussion broke out regarding—you guessed it—printers!

I didn't see anything in the subject line suggesting you were the designated expert here, nor did it say it was against the rules to mention technical details that most people find boring.

While you were busy deciding whether or not to reply, I went ahead and started a new thread. So, hopefully, those "boring" technicalities won't bother you too much. 👍

Honestly, why can't we just have a peaceful conversation without being interrupted?!?

I'm planning on picking up an all-in-one device soon, and I would really value some input..

No fighting, no drama... 😵

HP print head for the L series: $238 plus if they can fix it, you get a 6-month warranty
Service Center: labor cost is $53 + tax = $67

Basically—just buy a new printer.

Now we just need to see how many pages HP guarantees per print head, so they can't try to claim the head is just a consumable part...

If the G series is based on the IP 7250, can we expect they won't need 3 minutes to print that first page?

The Epson L220 isn't a bad concept while it's running. But not every link in the chain aligns with that idea. The chain breaks at its weakest point. In this case, it's the paper feed system and the scanner unit.

eKupi: L365 with 3 years of warranty = $417

$417 / (3 * 365) = $0.38 / day

That's the operating cost. There's plenty of ink included anyway, so there's no need to calculate it, and it isn't expensive ($17 / 70 ml), so it doesn't matter.

After 3 years, you just toss it in the trash.

L220:
$300 / 365 = $0.82 / day

Basically, as long as the device is under warranty, it should work, and during that time, we can rely on it. Every day past the warranty... a free gift.

It seems like the Canon G series should actually be more expensive than the Epson models...

The Pixma g series range starts from USD 9,595 for the basic model- G1000 printer and goes up to USD 16,795 for the wireless G3000 model. And the replacement ink bottles are priced at USD 499 per unit. The printers will compete with the ink tank series printers from Epson, which come at a starting price of USD 7,500 (approx.).
Proposal to increase max image size limit in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Honestly, why is it such a massive headache to just set a maximum image size in VB? We should have automatic resizing—whether it’s tiny or stuck at 640x480 or 800x600—so it doesn't matter what the user uploads. Then, clicking the image could just open the full version in a new browser window... It would save users from the hassle of manual resizing, and stop them from getting their ZIP codes deleted by moderators for huge files. It's not the 20th century anymore...
