What if you just climbed up the embankment and then hopped onto the bridge from there?

I'm not quite following you there. What exactly do you mean? 🙂

I think I misjudged the situation. XD
Anyway. Regarding the trip to the Golden Gate Bridge, you hit the nail on the head with your description. 🙂

I used to take that same route toward the embankment, but then I’d veer left along the path—there's a paved road right next to it by Central Park—hit that bridge nearby (can't remember the name), and then cut past the NSB building to get where I was going.
Taking that way, it took me about 20 minutes from Union Station to the downtown area.

Give me a break. At this rate, you’re going to need an extra 15 minutes just to get to work (and back). 🙂

I'm heading out the other way, so we definitely won't cross paths. 🙂
p.s.
It doesn't feel nearly as slow as it seems, considering it's only a 36-minute drive to the Atlantic Ocean. 😉

Kudos to me. 😁 (I know, most of you probably find that embarrassing, haha)

And I even managed to outpace three female cyclists—well, they caught me at a red light, though.

You're over at Mammoth Cave? Then we're practically neighbors. 😉

Call up a buddy who knows his way around a bike—doesn't even have to be a pro mechanic. He’ll have it fixed up in two minutes flat. Then just buy him a beer, and everyone walks away happy. 😉
