Numbness in skin area after surgery
in Health ·
I actually first ran into this issue about a year and a half ago. My mom had to undergo surgery, and they ended up leaving this pretty massive incision right across her shoulder blade and down under her arm. As far as I know, she still hasn't regained full sensation under her armpit—it’s just this intense, heavy pressure that really hurts. So, the idea that light irritation could trigger it? That makes perfect sense to me if the nerve sensation hasn't fully reset yet. If you can handle it without too much pain, maybe try using just your fingertips to give those spots a very gentle massage. As for acupuncture, I don't know the first thing about it, so you'd probably be better off asking a professional practitioner.
