Am I too old to get serious about cycling?

In endurance sports, like cycling, people usually hit their absolute peak somewhere around twenty-five to thirty. Of course, that assumes you weren't just some total amateur before thirty, but at least a reasonably fit recreational athlete. That prime window is supposed to last maybe five to ten years before things start a slow, gradual decline.
So, I guess that means my downhill slide has officially begun... though, on the bright side, I don't actually have to pedal anymore...🤣
