Galleon Syndrome in Health ·
Since I haven't heard much back from anyone yet, I figured I’d throw out a few more details to give you guys the full picture.
In its final stages, the illness basically causes the body to just... stop. It shuts down the production of all fluids—we're talking saliva, urine, sweat, even bowel movements. Everything just dries up.
We actually got a diagnosis from the Swiss Institute for Pathophysiology, and they identified it as Galianov syndrome. Though, honestly, I might be getting the name slightly wrong since I'm hearing this through secondhand channels rather than reading the actual medical report or the formal diagnosis myself.

If anyone reading this has dealt with something similar, or if you’ve come across anything about this in your own research, I’d really appreciate it if you could share what you know or whatever experiences you've had right here.

Could someone please walk me through what they know about this so-called Galleon syndrome?
I’ve never even heard the term before, and honestly, I’ve been digging around online but I can't find anything that actually gives me a straight answer.
The diagnosis apparently calls for immediate hospitalization, but according to the doctors who identified it, there is currently only one clinic on the planet equipped to handle it—the Mayo Clinic over in Jacksonville.

We're talking about an eight-year-old kid who originally went in because of a sore throat. They were given some lincomycin, and then everything just spiraled into this series of really bizarre, unexpected reactions.
Does anyone know if this sounds more like a bad drug reaction or if we might be looking at some kind of autoimmune issue?

Thanks so much
