Cosmetic dentistry: What are the typical costs?

I’m looking for some guidance here, so any insight would be appreciated 🙂
Here is the situation: I am considering cosmetic dentistry—specifically porcelain veneers—as a way to finally address my crooked teeth. It seems like the perfect fix, yet I am struggling to find even a vague estimate of what this actually costs... nothing is clear!! :S
Can anyone give me a realistic idea of the price range? I assume the cost is per tooth, and since I have about seven teeth that need work, I’m trying to budget accordingly. I haven't been able to find anything concrete stating whether the cost falls somewhere between $1,000 and $2,000 per tooth or if it's significantly higher...
