Chance the Rapper, San Diego is beautiful. Is it actually as bleak there for taking antidepressants?

Anything that spikes your appetite can lead to weight gain if you actually eat more. Some things trigger hunger more than others, and certain items might cause water retention—though that’s easier to manage with a bit less salt or some diuretic tea. Generally, unless there's a serious metabolic issue at play, sticking to clean eating, watching your portions, keeping an eye on the scale, and staying active should keep your weight right where you want it. :-)

As for whether they cause more or less weight gain, I'll let someone else weigh in. There isn't much of a hard rule here; one person will swear Medication A made them gain weight, while another claims Medication B was the culprit and A was fine. Science has ways of finding the truth, but everything else is just anecdotes.

Best,
Donna Vaughn66 said:I'm 23. Lately, I've been feeling some tachycardia occasionally (mostly before bed). Also, once in a while—rarely, maybe twice a day at most—I get this dull, faint chest pain. Here are my Holter monitor results:

Results:
Ventricular events - all 0.
QRS complexes: 92907
Artifacts: 1812

Supraventricular events
SVES (Premature < 80%): 2
SVTach (> 120 bpm): 0

Arrhythmias
not applicable (delayed > 140 %): 2
longest: 1.52 s at 5:02
Bradycardia (< 50 bpm): 25
Lowest: 43/min at 5:51

Conclusion:
Sinus rhythm, avg freq. 68/min. (56 - 136).
2 SVES recorded, all other findings within normal limits.

Can someone explain these results?

Basically a normal reading. A few noted "skipped beats," specifically a supraventricular extrasystole—harmless, purely cosmetic. The underlying rhythm is sinus rhythm at a normal rate... it's absolutely fine. During the night, there were a couple of instances where the heart rate dropped slightly along with one pause; that's common enough. Nothing to worry about. My suggestion would be an exercise stress test—treadmill or stationary bike—just to see if that chest pain is cardiac-related. At your age, assuming you've been healthy so far, and especially given you're female, heart issues are almost entirely ruled out.

Best,
