I haven't had any issues with this, nor have I ever. As soon as I reach out, they tell me exactly what steps to take, and as long as you don't try to get tricky or play games, it's smooth sailing.

People really overcomplicate this, but it couldn't be simpler. Of course they're going to ask for some documentation—what else would they do? Their reputation and long-term business depend on it. If they let everyone do whatever they wanted without any verification, things would fall apart. Imagine if anyone could just pull small amounts from their own account or someone else's...

Everyone seems shocked that PayPal needs verification, yet nobody bats an eye when a major bank here in the States asks for basically your firstborn just to clear a transaction. And don't even get me started on the endless amount of silly questions people ask about things that don't even affect them.

Honestly, nobody is going to give you a hard time just because the utility bills are in your name. As long as you have your bank statements and phone bill ready, having matching last names on those should be more than enough to get it sorted.

For instance, if someone signs up through my link at a place like Pinnacle, I handle their deposits and withdrawals via PayPal without charging a fee. Why would I do that? Because I get about 0.1% of all their deposits, regardless of whether they win or lose.

These firms essentially pool their limits from (mostly) Asian books, which allows you to secure a higher limit (though the exchange rate fluctuates depending on the day). Since they take a 0.1-0.2% cut of your deposit, it’s actually worth it for them to pick up the phone—even if you have to call them in the middle of the night!

In short—if you're hitting limits on sites like Pinnacle for sports like soccer, it's a great move. But for other sports (like handball), you won't see much benefit from them at all...

I was actually wondering if payingsafe.com belongs to you; based on this, it clearly does. Huge respect for the accessibility, the persistence, and how you rebuilt everything after those setbacks. I especially enjoyed the part about the idiot from the state lottery—I had a very similar experience with them myself.😍

Regarding what you mentioned above about "handling deposits/withdrawals via PayPal without a commission"—which commission are you referring to? Even since they phased out points for Venmo on FanDuel, I'm still getting some value there. Also, does a broker get a higher limit simply because they bring in new clients and capital, or is there another reason? It feels like there might not be enough margin in that model to sustain it long-term...

Limits aren't really an issue for me since I've moved away from traditional sportsbooks (the only one left that handles decent stakes and payouts is DraftKings, but that’s probably a question for another day). I've focused my attention on the sports I have on FanDuel, which turned out to be mostly top-tier soccer, ATP tournaments with 500+ rankings, and snooker. Snooker is where I struggle most, particularly with the handicaps, but from what I gather, I wouldn't gain much from a broker in that area anyway.

P.S. If you find yourself trying to avoid the commission on FanDuel, could you please just send a quick private message so we don't clutter the thread for everyone else? I'm talking about "faking" commissions just to stay above 20%, not about opening new accounts.

Peter Williams37 said:The Asian connection. If I recall correctly, the minimum deposit back then was around $25,000 or $50,000...
Most high rollers start at $100k and go up from there...
If my memory serves me right, the withdrawal fee was about $45.
You negotiate the odds directly with them... that’s just an example if you need to deposit a massive amount.

Best,

Thanks for the reply, though I find it hard to believe they'd negotiate odds like that—what kind of system would that even be? Besides, I already have FanDuel for those kinds of things.

What bothers me is the lack of transparency. I can't find anything on who they actually are or who's pulling the strings behind the scenes (you know, regarding financial stability). I don't really need that info right now since I've withdrawn almost everything and am starting over with a $10k bankroll, but who knows what the future holds? There's just too little information available for my liking.😕

I've seen people move $100k through FanDuel or PayPal before, but I haven't felt confident enough to trust this place with that kind of cash yet.

Then their bank details should pop up so I can send the money from my account to theirs. Since I have an account with JPMorgan Chase, I can just handle everything online. 🙂

Exactly. You just open a new transaction and enter all the info step by step. Last I remember, there was a daily limit of about $2,000 (maybe more if you go into a branch?), though they might be able to bump it up for you once. Don't take my word as absolute gospel, though—it's probably best to double-check, but that's how it worked when I used it last time...

Alright, now that I've finished playing the intellectual, here's the actual reason I'm logging on... ☕

Has anyone here actually used those "betting broker" services? I’ve had a few recommendations come my way, but I’m still feeling pretty skeptical. To be honest, their business models don't quite click for me—I'm struggling to see how they stay sustainable in the long run.

Here is a list of the big names.

What I really want to know, if anyone has experience with this, is how they handle parlays? Or are these services strictly useful for high-stakes moneyline and spread betting?

Feel free to shoot me a private message if you have the inside scoop.

It really feels like every sportsbook is more than happy to take your deposits as pure profit, but the second you try to withdraw, they suddenly turn into a fortress trying to keep hold of your money.

On the bright side, at least you can rest easy knowing that nobody on this forum is going to swoop in and drain your funds just because they saw your username or email address. 😉

hiddenhawk112 said:Hey there, I just opened a foreign currency account at my bank and set up a PayPal account. I'm planning to transfer some cash over to PayPal, but it won't let me upload the funds. Does anyone know how I can move the money? Please help.

If you want to go through your card, you'll need to "verify" it on the site first. I'm assuming you already have a card and the funds are sitting in your USD account. Just make sure to leave a little extra in your balance to cover any bank fees; once that's done, the money should be available right away. You'll need enough in the account to handle the verification process since they usually charge a small amount to confirm the link (an initial upload to your PayPal account), and once you see that transaction hit your statement, you're all set.

Another option is to do a wire transfer through your bank. You can find all the necessary transfer details directly on the PayPal website. It takes a few days to clear and the bank will charge a fee, but I think using Goldman Sachs is one of the most cost-effective ways, and you can usually set it up via online banking.

I’d recommend trying the card method first. Just a heads-up: they might ask if the funds are intended for gambling. If you say no, you could potentially find someone to help facilitate an immediate return of funds if things get tricky, giving you more flexibility afterward.

I was browsing online looking for something different and stumbled upon this, so I figured I'd share in case anyone finds it useful; it's a comparison between PayPal and Neteller.

If anyone here has an account at Wells Fargo or does business through them, my advice would be to move your money out as soon as possible. Word on the street is they might end up facing the same fate as Silicon Valley Bank or First Republic.

Sean Flores27 said:Hmm, wouldn't you eventually run into an ATM that refuses to take your card if someone asks? I guess not, though...🤷
I won't go on too much about it, but still...

When I first started using this card, I went through all my options and ended up using JP Morgan Chase, Royal Bank of Canada, and Citigroup. All their ATMs are basically the same, so everything is just incredibly straightforward. I think Wells Fargo has a similar setup, but they aren't quite as widespread, so I dropped them.
Maybe things have changed for some people, but honestly, you don't really need anything more than this—they're on every corner.

I don't really have anything else to say, other than to emphasize once more: if these proposals actually pass, sports betting in America (at local US betting shops) is basically dead.

If I understood you correctly, just adjust the maximum margin to 10% instead of setting it as the minimum.

Sean Flores27 said:Yeah, so that 3.99 rate only applies when you're transferring between accounts. That's great news 🙂 I use JPMorgan Chase, but I assume there isn't much difference besides how they handle the decimals
Thanks for the help 👍

It doesn't really matter which bank you use; they all tend to offer pretty much the same exchange rate. Just be smart about when you withdraw—maybe try a smaller amount first to test the waters? If I recall correctly, JPMorgan Chase had certain limits $0.70 and they don't always ask which rate you want at every ATM; instead, they just automatically apply their own rate and tack on a service fee

@ Sean Flores27: I think what you’re talking about is just converting funds from one currency to another within the app. You can actually hold two or three different currencies in a single Skrill account, but you might want to look into the specifics of how they handle the conversion fees. Personally, I only deal in USD, so I'm not entirely sure how their multi-currency setup works in practice.

@ nextgame: Honestly, I'm impressed you were able to focus at the ATM for that long! 😉 It's a total toss-up whether you'll actually land that sweet exchange rate from JPMorgan Chase ☕

My bad, I didn't realize that since I've only been following the last few pages. Though, isn't that actually pretty important for this situation? After all, that's usually what leads to account freezes.

The limits are stuck at $2.00—what a joke of a sportsbook.

That sounds rough..

What kind of sports or leagues are you betting on, and what do your typical stakes look like?

Bryan Gray91 said:If I caught that correctly, Ladbrokes allowed 600 euros on futsal.
That would mean the account has been active for quite a while. Lately, most accounts opened here in the States get hit with automatic limits—usually around 50 to 100 dollars for things like NBA games and similar events.

It isn't my account, but it definitely wasn't created yesterday. I'm not sure about what you mentioned, but if that's how they operate, it's likely for those niche sports—you know, futsal, water polo, or some small local soccer or basketball leagues. They don't have enough data on them, so they just block bets either because they're afraid of what they don't know or because they suspect the games might be rigged. Either way, we aren't exactly their favorite customers.

I don't know, the whole situation is just getting frustrating. I really don't want to deal with traditional bookies anymore; I want to stick exclusively to exchanges. There are plenty out there right now, but none of them seem serious. I'm hoping Ladbrokes keeps acquiring them and pours enough cash into the mix to build a legitimate exchange. Maybe then they can finally help push Betfair under, given how greedy and short-sighted they've become.
The only real question is whether Ladbrokes will actually keep an exchange running, or if they'll eventually shut down that style of betting altogether. Personally, I think it's the only way to stay profitable in the long run.

I posted the exchange rate list above; it’s not some secret info, it's right there on their website. Just be careful about which options you select when using an ATM. You should never accept the conversion rate the bank offers, because those can sometimes hit 7.0x or 7.1x.

As for comparing PayPal to a standard bank account or card, it really depends on your specific bank, the amounts you're moving, your PayPal level, and so on. In my experience, my bank is slightly more favorable, but I personally prefer doing it this way just to avoid going through them.

The money we make from betting isn't exactly easy money, so why give away more than necessary? Also, if you're heading into a branch to ask for advice, just keep in mind that most tellers at local banks don't actually know much about these things. I've learned that lesson a thousand times over.

If you scroll down to "currency conversion," you'll find the PayPal exchange rate list covering all currencies, which gets updated every single day. I usually just compare those rates against what the Federal Reserve is offering.

https://www.paypal.com/en/webapps/mpp/paypal-fees

I have Diamond status, though I'm not entirely sure if that makes a difference for the exchange rate itself. It definitely matters for the fixed transaction fee, but I don't have access to those specific details anymore. If your experience is different, why not post your own numbers? It would be helpful for everyone else to see the discrepancy.
