Joseph Nguyen4, I went ahead and set the EVR, along with those dx7 settings for both the left and right channels...
everything is running flawlessly, and even 1080p playback is smooth as silk
I have all the Core AVC inputs selected while keeping the outputs deselected, and since everything works perfectly without me needing to tinker further—especially with my CPU usage sitting at zero while the GPU handles the heavy lifting—I think I'll just leave it be...
If it isn't too much trouble... I would be truly grateful
It’s acting up again... honestly, I feel like I'm losing my mind. Now there are these ridiculous little lines flickering right across the center of the screen... would you mind posting a screenshot of your CoreAVC settings?
Good grief, I didn't even mean to include that; I actually deleted it years ago...
For now, everything seems to be running perfectly with those settings Drew Sanchez82 provided, so I'll just let it ride... I went ahead and disabled CUDA as well, since it clearly wasn't doing anything useful anyway...
I'm running an Intel Core 2 duo T9300 at 2.50 GHz, which really shouldn't be such a struggle... I haven't experimented much with different configurations, though my VLC Media Player was stuttering quite badly even after I set everything to DX9 and routed it through madVR based on a guide I found here, following all those specific add-ons to the letter http://imouto.my/watching-h264-video...itecture-cuda/...
The idea was that enabling CUDA would allow the GPU to take over the heavy lifting and actually give the CPU a break, but somehow it seems to have had the exact opposite effect
So, I’ve been running VLC with all the necessary codecs installed. I generally stick to 720p content because anything lower feels like a waste of time, yet even 1080p refuses to play smoothly. Actually, even my 720p playback is hit or miss; at certain points, the entire system seems to struggle under the load and everything starts to lag... I tried dropping the monitor color depth from 32-bit down to 16-bit, which seemingly fixes the stuttering, but the visual quality suffers immensely as colors bleed together... I suspect there might be an issue with the graphics hardware. My setup consists of a Dell Latitude D830 laptop equipped with an Nvidia Quadro NVS140M with 256MB of VRAM and 4GB of RAM, connected to a Dell g2410 external monitor at 1920x1080, while the laptop's built-in display is 1920x1200. Based on the specs I've researched, this machine should handle 720p effortlessly and even manage 1080p, but reality isn't matching those expectations. I have attempted to configure VLC to utilize CUDA drivers or whatever similar acceleration is available, but regardless of which player I try, the performance remains inconsistent...
If anyone happens to have a suggestion, please let me know, as I am reaching my breaking point...
