The death of the quiet countryside? in Real Estate ·
I was driving through some of the more rural parts of the state last weekend, and it hit me how much the landscape is shifting. It used to be that if you drove far enough away from the city, you’d find nothing but rolling hills, old farms, and actual peace and quiet. Now, everywhere I look, there's more and more massive, windowless industrial complexes popping up in the middle of nowhere.

It feels like we’re trading the soul of the countryside for these giant, humming monoliths. These places don't really "interact" with the community. They don't hire local farmers or support the small-town hardware stores; they just sit there, sucking up resources and taking up space that used to belong to nature or family legacies. It’s like we’re paving over the very thing that makes rural life worth living just to fuel some digital infrastructure that most people won't even see.

I honestly worry that once that open space is gone, you can't just "undo" it. Once you build a massive concrete block on a field that's been in a family for a century, that's it.

Does anyone else feel like the "empty" spaces we love are disappearing faster than we realize?

Angela Wright said:I don't take Yazoo, but I am on the pill and I smoke. I haven't cut back—not really—since I wouldn't call myself a heavy smoker anyway. One pack usually lasts me about 3 or 4 days, though sometimes more or less. I actually asked my OBGYN about this. He told me that smoking isn't healthy, obviously, but that it wouldn't change how the pill works. I think even the fine print in the little pamphlet you get with the prescription—you know, where they list the ingredients and instructions—says women over 35 shouldn't smoke while taking them.

A pack lasts me just one day, which is a ton—and my doctor keeps telling me I need to quit or at least cut down. Plus, the Yazoo instructions say not to take them if you smoke, so I'm getting a little worried about things like pulmonary embolisms, heart attacks, or strokes. I've heard stories about girls dealing with lung pressure or this terrible cough that's way worse than usual, so...
I'm only 22—it says the warning is for anyone over 35—so is it okay if I smoke just a little bit?
Maybe 3 or 4 cigarettes a day until I can quit for good?
Just enough so my pack lasts 3 or 4 days?
Because I know one pack a day is way too much, whether I'm on the pill or not.
*Sorry for the long post!

I have a couple of questions here 🙂
Does anyone else smoke while taking Yazoo pills?
How does smoking affect things—or how do you find you handle it?
Have any of you found yourselves cutting back on cigarettes or anything like that?

To be honest, my iron levels are pretty much trashed... My doctor was actually surprised I could even stay on my feet—honestly, I'm surprised too—and he prescribed some pills and whatnot, but they didn't really do much for me.

Yeah, I've been there... ended up passing out right in the middle of a coffee date with a girl I was seeing—not my finest moment, for sure.🤣🤣

What does a normal day look like for you?

I went through something similar—mostly when my whole life revolved around staring at books, my laptop, or the TV... eating way too many carbs, just feeling generally sluggish.
Even though I was sleeping plenty, I still felt groggy all day long.

Maybe try adding a bit more movement—doesn't have to be intense, even just an hour of brisk walking should help.
Try cutting back on the caffeine and soda; sugar gives you that quick boost but then you crash. Also, try to stick to a consistent bedtime every night.

Plus, the heat can really drain you and make you feel lethargic. In those cases, a quick afternoon nap—maybe thirty minutes to an hour—can actually help reset things.

it actually started happening right when
I was playing basketball...
and I even hit the gym for a while just to try and tire myself out
but it didn't really do much...
otherwise, I stay pretty active—I'll head to the local pool and swim a couple of miles—but nope, it's still the same.

Hey everyone,
The issue is I just can't seem to get enough sleep—and before anyone says, "just go to bed earlier," 😁...
It doesn't matter if I nap during the day or stay up late, or if I manage an hour or a full twelve hours.
Even the mattress makes no difference—hard, soft, whatever...
I always wake up feeling like I haven't slept at all.
I’m a pretty light sleeper, too—I wake up easily, and even after what should be eight hours, I remember tossing and turning about four or five times.
But regardless, I'm constantly exhausted.
I've tried everything—chamomile tea, warm milk, even wearing myself out during the day just to crash like a log—but nothing works. I'll wake up feeling even more drained than before I went to bed.
This has been going on for two or three years now, and honestly, I'm at my wits' end.
The constant fatigue is killing me—my focus is shot, my memory is fading, and my grades have taken a hit. I'm irritable, picking fights with everyone, feeling sluggish, and the dark circles under my eyes are permanent. And the yawning... it never stops.
I even tried some sleeping pills; they helped for maybe the first two nights, but by the third, I was right back where I started. Please, help me out—I'm completely burnt out and I've honestly forgotten what it feels like to actually be rested. 🙂
