I wonder if anyone knows why the odds on the Grasshoppers have shot up so much? I guess you can even find them at 2.23 now... maybe there's a specific reason for that jump.

I guess there are plenty of sportsbooks that don't bother asking for paperwork right away—if I remember correctly, even FanDuel didn't ask me for anything. But honestly, except for my very first bet through BetMGM, I've pretty much done everything via PayPal. It feels like you might struggle to get through without providing a credit card copy if that's how you're depositing. They used to mess around with me a bit regarding those documents, but I have to admit, the money always ended up in my hands eventually.

I sent everything via email since they sent me an automated message. I just sent a photo of my ID and my Visa card taken with my phone 😕 I haven't heard back from them yet, I guess.🙂

Which sportsbook was it, and how long has it been since you hit send on that email?

Thanks, I was just curious, I suppose. It doesn't really matter to me how they figure it out.

Does anyone happen to know if DraftKings shows a limit on individual bets (like a max bet)?

Peter Williams37 said:Well, if you know all that, I guess there was no point in even asking ☕

Maybe you didn't quite catch what I was asking. I was actually wondering about the bookmakers that aren't on my list.

Peter Williams37 said:I guess DraftKings doesn't really mess with limits, and FanDuel is fine too, though since it's an exchange, they take a little cut from your winnings. Maybe 12bet and 188bet are similar to DraftKings being Asian-based, so you probably won't run into any issues with limits there either.
Hey!

Hey! How's it going?

The only one I haven't given a shot yet is 12bet, but I guess their handball and volleyball options seem pretty thin. Also, 188bet and DraftKings have such tiny limits on those sports—like, maybe 48 Euro on volleyball at DraftKings, though I suppose you can just place multiple bets at that limit, even if the odds usually drop. It’s nothing like soccer, where you can really go for it without worrying about getting limited too quickly.

Maybe FanDuel, that German bookie, has limits around 500 Euro, I guess. They only really start dragging their feet on withdrawals if they decide you're looking a bit suspicious.
I guess there might be a 6-second delay at the start, which feels pretty significant if you're doing live betting.

I guess it doesn't have the best reputation on the forums, but how long have you actually been using FanDuel? If you've been playing there for a year without any issues, I might just move my money over there.

Paul Lopez21 said:Hey there!

I'm trying to sign up for an online sportsbook for the first time. I checked out BetMGM earlier. They asked for scanned documents, which was totally fine by me. I figured once I sent them over, the paperwork part would be done. But then, I get this message: "Error Message"Could you maybe send over some photos of those documents taken with a digital camera? I guess that would be great...

I guess there are just a few things I'm not quite following:

What are they even going to do with photos taken on a digital camera once they've already received the scanned documents? I guess it doesn't make much sense, maybe.
I guess I didn't see it during registration—or maybe I just missed it—but they're asking for more than just a scan of my credit card and an ID with a photo.

I wonder if other bookies look for this too, or if BetMGM is just being extra picky about it. Maybe it's just their thing, I guess.

Thirdly, does that mean I'll need to grab my camera, snap some photos of my docs, and then send those pictures over again? (I guess that's what it means, maybe.)

🤷 😕

Thanks! 🙂

That’s exactly what I’m thinking—I just took a photo with my phone using some pretty terrible resolution, and they accepted it without any issues. I ran into the same thing once at a sportsbook, though I can't quite remember which one, but it clearly isn't an isolated case since I got paid right after sending over the digital shots. I have to say, BetMGM never even asked me for docs, and that was where I actually pulled my biggest win.

restlessgardener85 said:Maybe try DraftKings, or maybe even DraftKings if you really want, though I guess you won't have much luck with limits on handball or volleyball... Since I don't bet on those sports too often, I'm not entirely sure about the odds elsewhere, but if you know a place with decent lines that feels a bit exotic, just ask, I've used pretty much all of them...
You could try Doxxbet, I don't play there much, but they seem okay...
Or honestly, just open a new account with someone else like Bet365 or BetMGM... And with BetMGM, I think they let you bet more if you just add some silly 1.01 bet, that helps me out sometimes

I have to admit I've been thinking about Doxxbet, and regarding DraftKings, as much as I like Russians as a people, I just don't really trust them with my money transactions.

Surprisingly, I haven't been limited at BetMGM yet (probably because I haven't used them much due to those lousy odds, even though they were my first online bookie), but that's my only online account (not counting FanDuel) that uses Dollars, and the odds for certain sports aren't exactly great.

Do you have any experience with Betway, BetMGM, or maybe even FanDuel (that last one just popped up on my radar, but the odds look really good for some games)?

Lawrence Alvarez3 said:Can someone please help me out with Pinnacle? Their customer service is honestly such a massive fail. I'm trying to figure out how to bet on more games or use their parlay option. It feels like I have to pray to God just to get my bets placed the way I want. I seriously can't believe it's this hard to just combine two or three games... I know they're the best for singles, but still..

Well, you can't just toss whatever you want into a parlay; you can only pick from what they've actually made available.

silverridge3 said:You can pretty much do that at any foreign sportsbook. I actually signed up on Marathonbet about a month ago and just picked whichever currency I wanted.

I guess my question wasn't read all the way through. Obviously, like 95% of bookies let you open an account in dollars. What I was actually asking is if anyone could suggest a site where I can comfortably bet on handball and volleyball without getting hit with those ridiculous 5 Euro limits. The whole dollar thing was just my way of responding to Bryan Adams6, who suggested American sportsbooks.

Bryan Adams6 said:If you're already getting limited by the online bookies, why not just deposit at a local shop? Is there really no league or division available that you actually play?

The only domestic one I use is Supersport, but I guess I forgot to mention that I'm looking for a bookie where I can open an account in USD.

I was wondering if anyone could suggest an online sportsbook (not already on my list) where I can comfortably place at least $100 on handball or volleyball without getting limited to $5 after just two wins? I'm really only looking for advice from people who actually use these sites themselves—I'd rather avoid all that second-hand hearsay.

Here is what I've already got:
188Bet, 10Bet, Bet365, Bet-at-home, Betfair, Betsafe, Betsson, Bwin, Coral, Expekt, Gamebookers, Ladbrokes, MyBet, Paddy Power, PinnacleSports, SBOBet, Sportingbet, Stan James, Unibet, Victor Chandler, Will Hill

Lawrence Alvarez3 said:I honestly don't get the whole limit thing. If you aren't doing stuff like arbitrage and you just know how to bet really, really well, that should be enough. That's why Pinny is my number one, even if their selection is a bit slim. And those odds? They feel almost like an advertisement. It's not like they have zero margin, but you definitely have to be fast since everyone wants those good lines. Still, they're cool with me. They don't hit you with limits. SBO is basically the same as Bet365, except it isn't green...🙂just kidding. I used to love live betting on 365. They aren't bad, I think I've just been with them too long. You can tell from the little things that they aren't really for people who don't just bet out of boredom; most of the time, they set odds like they're catering to casual players or the masses. Right now, I'm looking at these tennis handicap lines on Ladbrokes, and I mean, I can't believe they're paying 1.44 for Ana Ivanovic +8.5. That’s practically a gift. I've never tried Bet at home, but I heard a while back they were unreliable—maybe they've improved though. I've been searching for a long time for a bookie that won't limit me and offers extra handicaps, especially for tennis and basketball, or maybe lets you request specific odds. Pinny does some of that, but not everything. I'm not sure about Ladbrokes. But generally, at least as far as I can tell, UK bookies are all pretty much the same, aside from maybe Betfair. Out of the American ones, I'm not sure about Dimes. Americans swear by it.

Well, okay. I can understand getting limited because I'm winning, but being capped at $5 before I even place my first bet just because I'm coming from America feels like straight-up discrimination. Like, is my Dollar worth less than someone else's in Dublin?

5Dimes? Good question. I've been thinking about opening an account there for years, but it drives me crazy that you can't even see the odds or the site layout unless you register. And God forbid your betting strategy gets on the wrong side of Tony; you wouldn't want to be in that position.

Lawrence Alvarez3 said:Thanks so much, you really went into detail there. I noticed the odds aren't amazing either, but they have those extra tennis handicaps which are pretty cool. It seems like they don't hit you with limits too fast and aren't being jerks about paperwork... if you know anyone better than this one, let me know... just please don't say Bet365 or SBOBet... I'm kind of over them. Cheers.

Well, Ladbrooks will probably limit you eventually too if you win too much (especially if you bet with them when they have the best odds in the market), I know people who get cut off fast, but I've had that experience myself like I mentioned earlier.

Why are you over SBOBet? I rarely use them, but they seem okay to me?
I would kill for a new Bet365 account, I miss it so much (I think I still have mine, but it's been heavily limited)

If I had to pick just one account, it would be Bet365 (I guess my unlimited Pinny and Bet365 accounts are pretty decent) even though the odds are honestly pretty lousy. Some of those offshore bookmakers (BetVic, Paddy Power, Stan James—they actually kicked me out after just three bets) look great at first glance, but once they limit you to 5 EUR before you even place your first real bet, you realize you've made a mistake (being from the US doesn't help much there either). For instance, the bookie that took the longest to limit me, even though I placed my biggest bets with them, was Believe it or not, Bet-at-home, but their odds are weak and their settlement is slow. If you have questions about a specific bookmaker, just ask.

Lawrence Alvarez3 said:Anyone have experience with Ladbrokes? It seems pretty solid—maybe not quite on the level of Pinnacle, but still decent. If you know anything, let me know. Thanks!

I gotta say, it’s actually one of my favorite books. They let me bet for two years without hitting any limits, though when they finally did, they just dropped my max bet straight to 0 Euro 🤣. They have great limits on volleyball, handball, and other niche sports, not just the big leagues (the major ones are fine everywhere, I guess). Deposits and withdrawals were smooth too—I only ever used Moneybookers, so I can't speak to cards, but they didn't even ask for ID copies. Sometimes their odds are the best out there for tennis, volleyball, or soccer (especially Asian Handicap), but overall, their prices aren't necessarily the highest in the market. If that's your main priority, maybe there are better options. Still, I'd recommend keeping them in your back pocket, though if you only want one single account, you might find better elsewhere.
