Dealing with hemorrhoids – any advice? in Health ·
darkbear14 said:It’s tough for anyone to give a recommendation blindly over the internet. I once spent my time banging my head against a wall from the pain; I thought it was just hemorrhoids, but the doctor ended up diagnosing me with an anal fissure. My advice? Get him to a proctologist. A private specialist is fine if you need answers fast, especially since the pain is so intense. Post-op pain usually lasts a few days and is manageable, but the quality of life afterward is incomparable. You really don't want him suffering through this—I know firsthand how brutal it is.

This flared up for the first time just now. I honestly didn't realize things could escalate so suddenly, especially since he had a colonoscopy last year, which should have flagged anything suspicious.
Unfortunately, he's dealing with much more pressing health issues right now, so we're just trying to manage this with ointments and creams for the time being. Besides, there's no way I can just toss him in the car and drive him to a doctor at this moment.

Hey there.

My dad’s been dealing with a massive hemorrhoid flare-up for three days now. He had two colon polyps removed last year and has had a couple of colonoscopies, just routine stuff.
Anyway, I’ve honestly never seen him in this much pain. He can barely sit up without complaining, and don't even get me started on his time spent in the bathroom. 😲
I think they might be external since there's no bleeding, but he did feel a lump. His doctor called in a prescription for some Faktu ointment, so he started using that today.

I’ve seen people on here recommending chamomile baths along with Hemophagen and Dolocat. He actually wanted to try the bath yesterday, but the pain was so intense he couldn't even manage to sit down in the basin. 😢

Is there anything else out there that could help take the edge off the pain right now?
How to switch OB-GYNs: What's the process? in Women's Health ·

hmm, maybe it depends on which local health office you're dealing with... at my local clinic over on Jukić, they wouldn't let me switch gynecologists. They told me I had to submit a formal request with specific justifications, then wait for some committee to review it, and it would take at least a month. I just gave up and waited out the few months I needed until I hit that one-year mark...
