The whole "as long as the music is good, everything else is secondary" philosophy works fine for small club sets in cramped spaces with filthy bathrooms—honestly, it couldn't get any worse than that
but when you're throwing a massive festival like this one, the organization absolutely has to be top-tier for a few specific reasons
primarily so people actually want to come back to an event run by the same promoter (personally, I know I won't) and to keep people from losing their minds while waiting in lines for thirty minutes straight

either this crew ran into issues or they were just too cheap to throw in twenty more portable toilets, or maybe they just lied and said the music would go until sunrise when they actually shut things down at 2 AM... look... you need to demand more for your money, because if you don't, organizers like this will just lower your expectations and give you way less value than what you actually paid for

I’ve seen some absolute train wrecks in my time, but man, I have never witnessed a disaster quite like this one.
Wait, what happened back in 2002? Was that when the lineup first started getting scaled back?
And don't even get me started on that afterparty that dragged on until 4 AM. What an absolute mess.
Who was hooking up with who in that crowd? It was pure chaos.
How on earth do you think having just one men's restroom and one women's restroom works for a crowd of 5,000 people? It's ridiculous.

A TOTAL DISASTER

I'm not even embarrassed about myself—I ended up just peeing in a corner of the stadium—but I feel terrible for that poor girl who had to wait thirty minutes just to find a place to go.

Thank God Norman did such a freaking incredible job keeping things under control so we didn't end up with actual violence or incidents.

To be honest, I didn't even catch a glimpse of them; I think they were just walking around handing them out.

I ended up scoring mine much later from some girls who had a few extra lying around... haha. I had to make sure I secured myself a soft seat for the ride. 😁

The festival was actually pretty great, honestly—there was something for everyone, the beer wasn't overpriced, and even though the lines for the bathrooms, the bars, and the food stands were a total nightmare, the food selection itself was decent enough...

Look, it definitely wasn't perfect, $12 and having some guy pile all the toppings onto a kebab before he even touches the meat is just plain moronic, but whatever, it's fine...

And yeah, I definitely stocked up on some bourbon, so maybe I was looking at everything through a slightly distorted lens 🙂

Oh, and did anyone else catch that group of people snatching up three, four, or five freebies from AT&T? I seriously don't get it, what kind of greedy nonsense is that? 🤷
