Raymond Adams48 said:I installed Windows 7, a few programs, some games, and then the system went ahead and updated itself with Service Pack 1 and all sorts of other stuff.
Now I'm running into an issue where my CPU usage sits around 20% to 30% while the computer is just idling.
It really should be sitting closer to maybe 1% or 2%.
What should I do?
I've been dealing with the exact same thing for a while now, though mine stays stuck between 50% and 60%. I tried hitting Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open the Resource Monitor, checked the CPU tab, and identified what was dragging my PC down. Once I managed to bring it down, my RAM dropped to about 25%-30% while my CPU usage fell back to 0%-2%. What's the next step here? Is this actually dangerous?🤷
