Old school techno in Music ·
Can someone please tell me who brought up house music—you know, that classic soul-infused sound—in the old techno thread?

History doesn't really matter; what matters is the sound itself. We’ve already established that. Even though I've grown a bit tired of Mills lately, I still find myself reaching for those vintage Axis 12'' records. I also have a soft spot for the grandeur of Inner City—it was such a massive project. As for Cybotron or Model 500—out of everything Atkins did, I always go back to No UFOs, even if it isn't strictly techno. And Damon Wild is always a staple for me.

What are your thoughts on Saunderson's Ekspoziciju 07? 😕

The originators started as a group known as the Motown Four—Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, Juan Atkins, and Eddic Fowlkes. Detroit techno was born back in the 80s, right here in the USA.

I’m calling on all the true disciples of quality techno—not that cheap, mindless garbage playing through phone speakers, but the real deal. I'm talking about the lineage of Jeff Mills, Derrick Carter, and Damon Wild. Please join this thread; feel free to post upcoming events, links to download old demos, and anything else of substance.

As it stands, if you're looking for solid old-school vinyl collections, Pseudomonaz Channel on YouTube is probably your best bet.

My goal is to dig up even more—to champion the authentic sound rather than those flimsy, half-baked, low-quality DIY mixes you hear cluttering up modern clubs today.
