Look, I don't have a problem with house music, but I can't stand these pointless debates about genres and which one came first—especially when someone tries to lecture me on it.
Someone who just picked up some trivia online and thinks they're an expert, rather than someone who’s lived and breathed this stuff for years. By the way, regarding house music, at those specific events, people show up because they actually give a damn about the sound. At a techno party, half the crowd is only there because they think it's "in." Back in the early 2000s, everyone was basically a club rat. You had the crowd from the main parties heading straight to an after-party at my buddy's place in 🙄. Everyone went to every single party regardless of whether they actually knew what they were listening to; they just wanted to be out. Luckily, the stuff I listen to stayed underground, because you really have to love it to get it. Because of that, you won't see us gathering in groups of 200 at a rave. I've been to parties with fewer than 10 people, and honestly, that's the best kind of vibe.

I mean, it's all fine... everyone should just listen to whatever they want. There's an old saying: live and let live.👍
It's just a shame that electronic music in America is still somewhat overlooked....🙄

Keep your copy-pasting, your Wikipedia deep dives, and all that other stuff to your own generation—those kids who love acting like internet warriors and lecturing people on history when they still have baby teeth. It’s like me trying to teach my old man how things used to be at the local dive bars back before I was even a thought. Or you trying to explain how the Gulf War started to me when I watched it unfold on TV from day one, long before you were even on the map.

Hold on. If my math is right, you've been consistently following and listening to electronic music since you were eight years old?

Man, I started out with those old-school house tracks and basic garage beats; what kind of techno are we even talking about here? 🙏

Why the sudden attitude, amigo?😁
It’s actually cool to see younger people who aren't just listening to whatever pop garbage is on the radio, but actually appreciate this stuff... there has to be some continuity to the tradition, right?

Once you start debating genres and subgenres, people just end up talking past each other. Honestly, I don't see why any of that matters. For me, it’s all about the sound. I want that damn good sound with a bassline heavy enough to move a crowd, the kind that puts a smile on your face, makes your feet move on their own, and sends your hands up in the air. I want that sound that hits you right in the chest and keeps humming in your ears for five or six hours after the party's over.
And look, if you want to know who was first or what started what, just use Google or Wikipedia. It's not that hard to look it up.

This guy pretty much nailed the whole situation. 👍

More feeling, less thinking. I think that's really the core of all dance music. If you want to overanalyze everything else, go join an academy or something...
Am I right or am I right? 🙂

It’s honestly mind-blowing how Kraftwerk still sounds like they’re ahead of their time.
Classic and timeless—long live Kraftwerk!
