Hey everyone,
I’m curious—what are your go-to classics when it comes to folk music at weddings?
My first pick has to be "Open the Gate for Your Wife!" :-)
What are your favorites? Give me your top 5 or even a top 10 list.
NEW ORDER - Movement (The Factory) (2 CD) USA
NEW ORDER - Power, Corruption & Lies (The Factory) (2 CD) USA

I have New Order's debut from 1981 and their second release from 1983 available. These are collector-grade US editions released in 2009, set across 2 CDs. Unlike the UK and European versions from 2008—which were plagued by poor remastering and significant audio issues—this 2009 US pressing was remastered properly. Along with the Japanese import, this is the only version that actually sounds good. These were ordered directly from the US label, Rhino, and you won't find them in any European shops, including here in the States, where you're stuck with the flawed UK/European pressings.
Price: $33 (per album)

I am selling New Order’s debut from 1981 and their follow-up from 1983. These are collector-grade US editions released in 2008, featuring two CDs per set. Unlike the UK and European versions—which suffer from poor remastering and significant audio flaws—this American pressing was remastered properly. In my view, alongside the Japanese pressings, this is the only version that actually sounds right. I sourced these directly from the US label, Rhino, making them nearly impossible to find in local shops here in the States, where you'll typically only encounter the subpar European imports.

Is that so? How would you know? 🙂
Which kind does he prefer? Bourbon, rye, applejack, or maybe some old-school corn whiskey?
DENS MODERN VIDEO CONTEST

Did your mom always tell you that you had moves? Can you master Jumpstyle or Tectonic in five minutes flat? Prove her right, and you might just win a trip to the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival!

The demode collective is giving away two sets of two festival tickets. Here is how you can grab them in two easy steps:

1. Record a video of yourself dancing to tracks by artists performing at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (including Ted Leo, Danger, Goto80, The Lowbrows, Marshmallows)

2. Post your video under the title "DENS MODERN VIDEO" on the demode collective Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/deMode...=wall&viewas=0)

The video that earns the most love from the demode collective community (the one with the most "likes") wins two festival tickets. Additionally, our panel of judges—consisting of Nedjeljka, Mirzaa, Rachunica, steelstag1, Jon B, Bambi, and Jah—will select the most creative entry to receive two festival tickets.
If you need help picking a track, you can find music available for free download at http://www.demodeisout.com.
The contest for the best dance video runs from May 7th through May 17th.

NEW ARTIST ADDED TO THE FESTIVAL LINEUP

Marshmallows has been around for about fifteen years now. In reality, they've always functioned as the full-band evolution of the lo-fi project Marshmallow, led by one of America's most prolific singer-songwriters, Matija Habijanac. Over the last decade and a half, about thirty different musicians have cycled through the group. The current lineup features Matija alongside Oliver on bass, Vatroslav on drums, Katarina on violin, and multi-instrumentalist Viski. Descriptions of their sound vary depending on who you ask: some call it "indie pop with local country/Americana and college-pop vibes," others label it "small-town blues," while still others describe it as "rock 'n' roll infused with country-folk and rockabilly." The band recently finished recording a new album, which they plan to release as a free download at the end of summer. They feel strongly that all EPs should be free to the public; following that philosophy, their entire catalog from this millennium is available to stream or download on Last.fm.

FESTIVALSKI WARM UP PARTY CANCELED - Following the tragic passing of You Say Party! We Say Die! drummer Devon Clifford, the band's entire tour through the United States and Europe has been called off. Consequently, the scheduled Demode festival warm-up party, originally set for Friday, May 7th, is also canceled.

To reiterate: it’s better to head toward the factory early and secure your ticket via the NYSE. That way, you can actually enjoy yourself without constantly worrying about whether tickets will still be available. 🙂

The security guards there aren't exactly known for their hospitality, either.👎 So, expect the real afterparty to happen in the bathrooms at a venue like the Fillmore.👍

In that case, just grab a ticket for the opening act before heading to the main show, then swing by our place once the concert wraps up. 😁
What kind of "natalije" are we talking about here? Is this some little friend of yours? :-)
You think it was a disaster? I wouldn't call it that, unless you’re referring to the Toxic Avenger who flaked out just thirty minutes before the party even started. 👎 Even so, the night turned out to be a success! 😁

Why are all the photos on the poster so recent?
That doesn't mean we've sidelined Richie. Don't worry, he'll be making quite an appearance at NPR tonight. Everyone should come out!

Fair enough, though I have to say, the all-feeling surface is my personal favorite too! 👍

Yeah, I’m a total idiot. When I booked my session at the studio a couple of months ago, I had no clue it would end up clashing with the big game. 👎
The only silver lining is that the studio will probably be nothing but women! 😁

I despise purity.
I despise goodness.
I have no desire for virtue to exist in this world.
I want total corruption everywhere.

They call me a butcher, though I am an architect.
They call me primitive, though I am a pioneer.
They call me perverted, though I am purity.

I am more capable than Mensa, Miller, or Mailer.
I moved past Plath and Pinter.
I am everything you come to regret.
A truth that cleanses those who learned how to spell.

The first time you face your own nakedness, you weep.
Skin once soft is now blemished; breath is stale; the spirit is broken.

Sleep offers no refuge from the thoughts fracturing my mind.
Shadows lack clarity, and false mirrors reflect far too many souls awake.

It is far too easy to buckle; humanity destroys everything.
It is far too easy to buckle; humanity destroys everything.
It is far too easy to buckle; humanity destroys everything.

What powerful lyrics.🙏

They’d better step up their game with the music; we’re showing up ready to go hard. Honestly, I’m more intimidated by those stuffy, high-society crowds at the Lincoln Center! 😠
Oh, really? What was it about them that didn't sit right with you?
Is anyone planning to head out to Ashland in Vienna on December 1st, 2007?
The entry fee is just $15.
A friend and I are going.
Who else is in? 😁
