Infertility and low fertility issues in Women's Health ·
So here’s the deal... she went to the OBGYN yesterday. The doctor didn't even bother asking about what happened before; she just told him her lower abdomen was killing her and she hasn't had her period in over two months. Since it was her first time ever seeing a specialist, he gave her a full exam and an ultrasound and basically said: EVERYTHING IS PERFECTLY FINE. No anomalies, uterus looks great, ovaries are clear as a bell—no cysts in sight. He figured the missed period and the cramping are probably just from extreme stress. All he saw was some mucus and told her she'd likely get her cycle back soon. He said if nothing happens in seven days, she should come back and he'll probably just prescribe some pills. So there you go, folks... three months of our lives absolutely trashed by that moron. Honestly, thank God we didn't end up sick ourselves. THANKS EVERYONE. Peace

She told me she’s gonna play it cool at the OBGYN and won't mention what that guy said to her before... plus, she's acting like she's never even stepped foot in a doctor's office just to see how he reacts. What do you guys think about that move?
Also, for the last ten days or so, she's been dealing with this pain
down in her lower abdomen, and her period hasn't shown up since that started—it's been over two months now. She's constantly stressed out and living in fear, so could that be messing with her system? Thanks.

Finally talked her into seeing the OBGYN... even though she's terrified. I mean, honestly, who wouldn't be after hearing that kind of garbage? Once the appointment is set, we'll see. Look, I get it—everyone deals with health scares—but how can someone say stuff that scary? It’s like they're playing God, just leaving me totally spiraling. Only God knows what's coming next. People deal with a million different issues and still end up having kids. I'm just hanging on by a thread, hoping everything turns out fine. Thanks to everyone for the advice and support ;-)

Thanks for all the replies, everyone... really appreciate it. I actually sat her down and let her read through all this... just wanted her to see there's always a way out. That's all. THANKS. It’s good to know there are still decent people left in this world who actually give a damn. Peace.

Hey
My girlfriend is 20, we've been together for a year and a half... and honestly, the last three months have just been pure misery and despair. It all went south two months ago when she went for a routine checkup at some student clinic over at the local university hospital. She told me basically what the OBGYN said: that she probably won't be able to have kids, and if she ever did get pregnant, either she or the baby wouldn't make it. Everything just fell apart after that because we've always talked about starting a family, and she’s obsessed with having kids. Now, she refuses to even see a private specialist for a second opinion or more detailed testing. We've lost all hope. She's so young to be living like this. Ever since that appointment, everything has crumbled. She’s miserable, she avoids me—she says she doesn't want to hurt me, but still. Can anyone recommend specific tests I should suggest she gets done? What kind of thing would lead a doctor to say something like that? Is there any way to fix this? I don't even know what's actually wrong because she won't tell me, though I suspect she's just as confused by what he said as I am. I'm just clinging to the hope that it isn't all over.
Thanks for anything you guys can tell me.
Mario
