Anyone still running Windows 7?

Right now I'm trying to get that old "Rainbow Six" from back in '99 to run. It installed just fine, but as soon as I try to launch it, the screen flashes black for a second and then kicks me out with an "Appcrash.. error c000005" message. I'm thinking maybe it's a DirectX issue since Windows 7 comes with DirectX 11. I already tried installing DirectX 9 but no luck. Any ideas on how to fix this so I can actually play this vintage gem??
Hold up a sec, did you get DirectX with 7? Do I need to install DirectX 9, or should I be looking at the newer 10 or 11 for Windows 7?
