Back again...

I booted up Windows 7 in Safe Mode and rolled everything back to a restore point from May 1st, 2012. That specific snapshot included all those updates through January 11th, 2012.
I’ve got a bit of advice for everyone here:

Those Windows updates released after May 1st, 2012, are clearly buggy. I just wiped the recent backup, and now the laptop is running perfectly again. I guess even Microsoft isn't always right about what they push out 😁

I’ve been running Windows 7 Ultimate on my laptop, and honestly, everything was working perfectly until today.
Today, I boot the thing up and it seems fine at first—everything loads normally, but then the desktop pops up along with NOD32, and that’s where it hits a wall. Nothing else works. The mouse moves, and I can highlight "My Computer," but I can't actually open anything.
I tried restarting it (I actually shut it down 🙂 before trying again), and I got hit with that startup menu asking what I want to do:
1. Safe mode
2. Safe Mode with Networking
3. Safe Mode with Command Prompt
4. Start Windows Normal

I selected the option to just start Windows Normal, but it’s the exact same story... nothing changes.

Can someone please help me out? I have no idea what to do here.
