Rhinoplasty recovery: What to expect? in Health ·
So, I just finished my checkup, and after the sinus ultrasound, the doctor told me it’s definitely polyps causing all my issues. He mentioned that Medicare should cover the whole thing. I actually asked if there was any way to get some aesthetic touch-ups done while we're at it, and he said that's doable too. I guess I just hope he doesn't change his mind at the last minute, haha... My surgery is scheduled for next week. Reading through the posts in this thread, it seems like dealing with the nasal packing and having to breathe through your mouth is the absolute worst part of the whole ordeal. Honestly, I’m mostly just spiraling about how the entire thing is going to turn out; I really hope it goes smoothly. Does anyone happen to know roughly how long it takes for all the swelling to go down and for everything to finally settle back to normal? P.S. Thanks, Scott Carter23, for the kind words. ;-)

Hi everyone, I’m new here. I have a nose surgery scheduled at the Mayo Clinic with Dr. Ivy in about two weeks, and I was wondering if anyone else has been there? I'd love to hear about your experiences with him. I’m going through my insurance for this one since I actually broke my nose when I was about 12, so it’s pretty crooked. It doesn't look too bad on the outside, but the internal structure is just a mess... :) I’m hoping he can tidy up the aesthetics a bit too; I asked him during the consultation and he said it should be doable. Honestly... I'm feeling pretty tense and nervous. I've been waiting for this surgery for such a long time, and now that it's finally getting close, I'm just a wreck. I really hope it isn't as bad as I'm imagining...
