Low serotonin levels in Health ·
frozenbear9 said:I hope those labs have already been completed. If not, you should check your Vitamin D, B12, thyroid, and iron levels. Who actually ordered that serotonin test for you? Whose idea was it, and how did they explain that such a test would actually improve your health? I ask because, from a clinical standpoint, testing serotonin levels like that doesn't make much sense or serve any practical purpose.

I'll dig up those lab results; my iron levels are fine.
It was actually my psychiatrist's idea, after a whole string of medications failed to work. I suppose the goal was to see if the meds were actually helping boost production, just so I wouldn't be taking them for nothing. Because, if the drugs meant to stimulate production aren't doing the job, what other method is there besides antidepressants? We have to keep searching for the underlying cause.
Anyway, I'm currently undergoing a full endocrine workup for the second time. It turns out I have a microadenoma on my pituitary gland, and my cortisol, insulin, testosterone, and adrenal levels are all quite elevated...

A few years back, after cycling through several different types of antidepressants because none of them actually helped me "get back on my feet" despite all my effort, I went in to get my serotonin levels tested. Turns out, they were non-existent—my results were basically zero compared to the standard range.
We’ve been switching up my medications, but honestly, I feel worse with each new one. Right now, I'm just waiting on some new lab work to see if anything has actually developed.
Has anyone else dealt with something similar?
I try my best to stay upbeat and just push through my daily responsibilities—you know, living life and all that—but no matter how hard I try, I can only manage about three good days before things fall apart again for the next five.
On top of everything, I've been struggling with insomnia for decades. I've tried pretty much every alternative method under the sun alongside my prescriptions.

Dr. Darko Kaštelan at Rebro Hospital is truly top-tier; even during a standard checkup, he’ll spend at least half an hour or more with you. 👍
Jeans recommendations? in Fashion ·
Back when I was strictly set on a specific weight, I lived in Diesel. Nowadays? It just doesn't feel worth the emotional investment to buy them only to stare at them sitting in my closet. So, I've become a total Mango fan for jeans. They have such a great variety of cuts for every body type, and since they aren't breaking the bank, I'll occasionally grab two identical pairs if the fit is perfect—it’s easy enough to just rotate through them. 😁

As for my brother, I usually pick up his stuff from Levi's. Their styles are solid, and he’s been a loyal Mustang fan since forever.
