Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone might know if gynecological surgeries here in the States, like a hysterectomy for example, can be done using just lumbar or spinal anesthesia instead of going under full general?😲
Honestly, looking at those symptoms, I can’t help but feel like they’re mirroring what happened with my thyroid back when I still had it—it always seems to go totally haywire after I give birth. If you're looking for specialists, I’d suggest checking out Rožman KB Dubrava for nuclear medicine or maybe the Sisters of Mercy clinic with Prof. Kusić Vinogradski, though you really have to show up in person to get an appointment. You'll probably need a full workup: TSH, T3, and T4 hormone levels, plus a thyroid ultrasound and a scintigraphy scan. You can definitely get the bloodwork done privately if you want to save time, though it’ll cost you more, obviously. I usually go to the Branko Salzer lab over by Times Square, and for the ultrasound, I'd recommend Mayo Clinic. If you aren't in a huge rush, you can actually get everything handled through the hospital systems at Vinogradski or Dubrava too. Also, please, please make sure you see a physiatrist and get some physical therapy; I swear Dr. Sente at the Mayo Clinic is amazing. The wait times can be pretty brutal, but the therapy itself is worth it. Or, if you're lucky, you might find shorter waits over at Božidarevićev. Oh, and seriously, swimming is the absolute best thing for your neck—specifically backstroke. During the summer, it’s just perfect to hit up a pool near Chicago or maybe go for a swim at Jarun joga lake every weekend.
