URGENT: Did a tick just bite me??

You actually kind of made my day there... Honestly, I’m hoping it was just a mosquito, because I definitely felt a little bite on my neck the other night. Fingers crossed it stays just a bugbite; I'll probably wait a few days to see if anything happens before I start worrying about some random illness. But hey, it looks like it's already shrinking a bit. I guess I'm just making a mountain out of a molehill—I really am a total worrier at heart.

So, I’ve got this pretty noticeable red patch on my hand, just below my middle finger right over that big vein. I was out camping in the woods, though I didn't actually feel anything bite me. Last night, while I was crashing in the car, I kept waking up because my arm felt totally numb—probably just from being cramped up in such a tight space. My husband is convinced it’s a tick. Is it actually possible for one to bite you and then just disappear?
